My Articles in Soundhole Café. (and I wrote it on Facebook as well) I don’t like Facebook …..

I wrote my thoughts, another’s email, a book, a magazine or website - they were excerpts, a collaboration.

It’s sort of what I do to wake up my brain/mind

Some people get upset about the not quoting …..

Most is in the Internet - articles you never know who actually said anything. Sometimes it’s in a article in long long story.

I don’t want write about writing now because somebody will get upset and
PLAGIARISM

There’s going to be another article and it’s called NEUROPLASTICITY
Somebody wrote it and I don’t know that the person wrote it about five years or even more. And I tried to find it and I just can’t find it.

Maybe some Mod will find it and find out the names person.

And maybe I’ll get a ticket or violation.

*So this article I wrote the whole damn thing myself*

Neuroplasticity is fascinating. My youngest kid is a neurobiologist and studies synaptic transmission or communication between nerve cells in the brain. Learning a new skill or retraining a damaged brain to form new pathways is apparently all chemical.

The way he explained it was that performing an action slowly and deliberately causes a temporary change in certain chemicals that reverts back to the previous configuration after the action is performed. Eventually with enough persistence and slow deliberate movements the transformation becomes permanent and the movement is learned and becomes easy.

A very slow process as one ages but with enough discipline and persistence doable. Loss of patience is the big hurdle.

The biochemistry of learning seems fascinating. I have lived with focal dystonia in my right hand for many years. Almost like a stroke. A couple of fingers just won’t do what you want them to do. Came on fairly suddenly.  

I really did not have the patience to try prolonged neural retraining until the pandemic. No gigs so every day I spent time extremely slowly and laboriously plucking simple fingerpicking patterns on the guitar like I was learning for the first time.

After about six months things started getting better and now I am still far from where I used to be but there is a big improvement.
It can work to some degree if you are patient enough. Let’s hear it for new pathways!!

By that statement you make it clear you did not write it. So no plagiarism even though you did not accredit it to someone.
