Cloudy, but no rain. Yay! It is supposed to be clear next week. We went from minor drought to soggy, mushy, ground. Enjoy the day.

Good morning, all. Stuck in the clinic until noon today.
I had a gig last night after work. 3 hours(!) with my guitar-playing buddy at a local restaurant. It went really well, and we had a great time, but my fingers are sore today.
It was my second gig with the new Furch OM, and I'm loving that guitar more and more. It seems to fit me just right, and it sounds great.
I also used a new amplification rig for the first time. My Furch has a passive Schatten HFN pickup, so it needs a preamp. I ran it into my new RedEye Twin preamp with a Zoom A1 Four pedal in the effects loop. I had set up patches with EQ and reverb for both my guitar and my mandolin. They sounded pretty good at home, but this was the first test with a nice live PA system. I was extremely pleased! The guitar sounded very natural, and the mandolin sounded even better. It was a fun night.

Saturday, what to do, what to do.
Maybe start with a short visit at the Urbana farmers market.
Forecast says this will be the last day in the 50s for the foreseeable future so I think I'll attempt to do a bike ride on the newly paved Center Point to Urbana trail.
If I get my timing right I'll have time to do some end of the year mowing to finish up the day.

Good morning.
Riley kitty was bugging me to get up just before my alarm went off. As with nap time and kitty dinner time, both he and Simon know my daily routine.
So I'm up and have breakfast and meds in me. Now for a quick shower before I head down to my shop, customers this morning.

Good morning. Shannon, I'm glad you're still at it.
It'll be 50s-80s here today and as far as the forecast stretches. That's pretty much normal and I'll take it. I'll catch up on neglected yardwork this morning. Enjoy your day.

I learned it from Marshall! Seriously, I find it funny how much equipment it takes to amplify an acoustic so that it will sound decent when you are not in a situation where a microphone will work.

Sounds great Shannon. We had one of the annual 10 perfect days in MN yesterday. Low 50’s and no wind. Paddled about five miles of back channels. At one point this big wave sprung up ahead of me moving a little faster. After a few seconds a huge bass leaped out of the water. I call this spot “The Gates Of Modor”. Garage cleaning and leaf mulching today.

My brother, Karl, is a former F-16 pilot and now flies 767s for Air Transport International. He's on the KC to San Bernardino route this week, so we were able to bring him upon for breakfast at the house this morning. Very cool! He's the one in the red shirt.

Paul, your brother looks great, but a beard would really complete the look.

Taking a short break, customers gone and today I might just finish Russell's 1919 Martin. Been struggling with getting the new ebony nut as close as I can to the old ebony nut while correcting the spacing and centering problems. Then just need to check the setup. This better be right as I've worked very hard under difficult conditions to finish it.
Getting my shop cleaned up and uncluttered has helped but also slowed me down quite a bit. But it's almost there and I can move around without the danger of tripping and falling down. I'm also considering getting rid of my old welded angle iron bench and getting a smaller wooden bench to acquire a bit more open space in there.

You poor schlob. My goodness have I gone through many (too many) iterations of acoustic guitar amplification modes. **sigh**Gear, gear, gear.
