Good morning. We'll have 50s-80s and it should be pleasant.
Arizona has the highest transmission rate for the virus in the country these days. The good news is that the IHME projections finally show a decline in new cases starting in December.
The sun's up and I'm off for a walk. Enjoy your day.

Just edited a review of Elvis Costello's show last night in Minneapolis -- he had been scheduled to play at a 2,100-seat casino theater, but they would not agree to guarantee that all ticketholders were vaxxed or tested clean, so for the first time ever, he played at First Avenue, and according to the review, kicked major ass before 1,500 folks.

Good morning
No grandson to slow me down today so I should be able to get some work done. He is trying to video my work but is way too impatient to make a plan and do things properly so all he has is a hodge podge of takes that he thinks he can edit into a video. He has 3 cameras around my bench and in my way as this clumsy old man keeps tripping over tripods. I'm going to make him sit down and go over Restoring Millring's 1260 with me, just still photos and text but done with a plan and forethought, maybe he'll get the idea.

Up. Coffee, Starting the packing process for the trip, by getting out the suitcases. Had the dog/house sitter over yesterday to give a walk through and show her where everything was. Delightful young lady, who is my nephews significant other, works forOregon State U sports Beaver program in some sort of PR thing, she will also feed my daughters chickens and ducks for the week they are gone, so we are good on the animals front.
Overcast, wet and chilly here. Looking forward to warmer climate over there in a few days.

RiffKats gig at Cafe Smitten tonight. They wanted us for tonight and tomorrow night, the 13,14, and 19th.
Our drummer works works until 2 am Fridays and Saturdays. He can't do 2 nights in a row. The 5 years he spent in prison made it hard to get a job. Keeping one is paramount.

And the big news from Vinton, as I sit at the Family Restaurant, there is a new pub in town!
The Hospital Pub, located in the old hospital at the old Brail school.
Haven't been there yet but my pharmacist says it good.
Todd, update please.

Ooh, The Hospital Pub sounds interesting. I hope it's still there next September (not trying to be negative, but start up businesses, especially bars/restaurants, have a low survival rate). Maybe they have a space for live music.

Haven't been there yet but my pharmacist says it good. Todd, update please. They also own Bari Italian in downtown Cedar Rapids, which I've never been to because of it's over priced menu. I hear the new place in Vinton is good too, but at 15 bucks for a burger it better be. On edit, I sound pretty cheap. I would go there once to try it.

My nephew and his fiance planned an outdoor wedding in Dubuque for tomorrow. Not the smartest decision, but fortunately for them it will be in the 60s tomorrow.

I know someone who, when she was a young and new nurse, lived in that building in the mid-1960s. That's the way it was at the Braille School back then. Many people who worked there lived there. For example, I knew a couple who had retired and their kids had grown so every fall they'd lock up their house in town and move into an apartment in the dorm. It made the house parents truly house parents.

That menu is pricier than where we had lunch today and I thought that was high. But food was excellent and plentiful. I brought back half of my sandwich. It was research. We were checking out the place for a group lunch later this month. www.beyondbread.com/menu/sandwiches/
