I know absolutely nothing about how to do this. But there are those who do. Why reinvent the wheel or the guitar strings? What do museums do? How about contacting somebody at the Musical Instrument Museum or some such place? The Musical Instrument Museum was one of ours, too.

The people who are going to notice are, umm, a small subset of the general population. Like us and a few other snobs. Yes, but the knowledgeable people who notice things wrong in a museum are incredibly vocal - worse even than any Soundholian. You wouldn't believe the lengths we need go to to insure accuracy on the smallest points. I guess I know what you mean - I went to the MIM with my dad, a french horn/brass professor. "That's not quite right." "I'm not sure why they have that sign there, because it's wrong." I suppose it all depends on the budget. See if Kenny Hill or someone similar could dummy up what you need - top, sides, neck and headstock mounted in a case. Maybe not even full sides, and everything could be attached to/built into the case. Getting sound at the correct pitch would be a different matter.

I just assumed he made the little poop piles below the signs. He doesn't make poop piles -- he designs poop piles, silly.

Gut, being a protein may denature over time and logically will no longer be nature. My brother in law in Omaha used to take his kids to Peony Amusement Park when they were little and tell them it was Disneyland. I would suggest a similar approach David. No one will be the wiser. I was wondering that. Gut has a lifespan, no?

I had one of these until a couple months ago. It is braced for steel strings. Not a good choice. Any classical guitar will do.

An old and dear friend wrote this for his fretless gourd banjo. He intended it to be sung in that primitive Appalachian style.

We had an OR nurse from somewhere in the deep south and when we would be positioning a patient on the operating table and an objectionable odor drifted from that unmentionable area between the legs she would say. “Ohhh taint rays”

I don’t know how museums work but I would assume they want at least the appearance of being academic. They wouldn’t want curators from other museums making fun of them. Probably shouldn’t use an Ovation or a Rainsong. Agreed. An Estaban would be best.
