Looks like rain, probably Iowa rain, is skulking into the area. No plans today. My kind of day. Enjoy an extra cup of coffee with your morning repast.

Big TV sports day early. The Open and Le Tour.
Both promise vicarious excitement without leaving the couch.
Nice one inch of rain last night.

I'm off today. A regular from our office posted this photo -- the Amazon parcels from ONE route yesterday. I've worked 12 1/2, 13 1/2, and 14 1/2 hours the past three days. Amazon Prime days.

Diced ham, fried in butter till crispy, then whipped eggs dumped over the bits, seasoned with Spice 14 and scrambled. So simple. So good. Now there is coffee. No rain here, we could use it. No produce truck yet, either, so no local tomatoes, drat the luck.
Nice lunch on the Cabin 61 patio yesterday with a good-sized crew of guitar misfits. Many stories told, some of which, presumably, might have been true.

We're off to Church. We're leading Bible study on Isaiah. One of the subjects is Ahaz, who was descended from Jehoshaphat. I was disappointed that there is no biblical reference to him jumping, or otherwise doing physical activity.
Another balloon burst. :/

A warm and muggy start to the day. We've got a gig this afternoon, 4 - 6, I sure hope there's shade.

Good morning. We had a nice little shower for maybe 20 minutes last night. It's not enough but every little bit helps.
I took an early walk. We have church this morning. This afternoon, older daughter will stop by for a visit. Then I'll make an easy dinner.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning 75F-89F mostly cloudy. Usual Sunday stuff, breakfast, just a little shopping and if that doesn't wear me out some shop time. Yesterday's lunch was almost perfect. Nice day on a nice deck with great food. I invited as many old Podium staff as I could along with a few long time customers. DaWife really enjoyed herself and she even had TWO beers. We let Hammond join us, his makeup runs when he cries, looks terrible.

Had some thunder storms last night but fortunately they didn't put a lot of crap in the pool. It's pretty clean.
I think I mentioned a few weeks ago that the deck in front of Mary's quilt studio collapsed and it will be more work than I can do so I lined up a handy man but he got covid and that postponed repair for a couple of weeks. This morning he sent me a message that he'll get to it Wednesday. Nothing's ever easy. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for 10:00am Wednesday. Every other day this week is open. He did come over and look at the job so he knows what he planned to do and probably doesn't need me but I'll leave it to him whether he wants to do it or postpone it.
Hope y'all have a good day.

Hey, brother from another mother. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for Wednesday too. I have to be there at 12:30 so that leaves time for you to call me to advise me whether I should go through with it or not. On top of the colonoscopy (literally) they’re doing an endoscopy, so no part of my alimentary canal will go unscathed. The endoscopy is a thing I’ve never heard of called a Pillcam Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy with the SensorBelt. I will evidently swallow a capsule containing a camera and transmitter. Sounds better than a camera on a stick.

Got back from a week of Augusta swingery at 11:30 last night after a long day of transportation (and airport waiting): three-hour drive to Pittsburgh, flight to Mpls, ground shuttle to St. Cloud, cross-town drive home. Lots of walking and waiting in between.
That's the price of five days of playing and socializing with annual-event friends, some of whom I've been seeing for 27 years now. Also met Bob Thompson, the pianist for the Mountain Stage house band, a big 79-year-old transplanted New Yorker. The pandemic and program rearrangements made for an interesting week--we shared with cajun/creole and classic-country, and were by far the smallest group. (There was a time when we drew 80 dancers plus the musicians.) I didn't play nearly as much as I have in other years, partly because the student band segment was rearranged and partly because there just weren't as many swing participants. The upside of that is that I didn't have that drug-through-a-knothole feeling in the morning from jamming until all hours. The real challenge in the future is not going to be keeping up musically, it's going to be keeping up physically with the exertions of travel and tramping around a very hilly campus.

Sounds better than a camera on a stick. I had an endoscopy once upon a time but it wasn't a pill, it was a tube with a camera, I think. In any case it didn't find anything. Hope the colonoscopies turn out like that too. My last one was 4 years ago and the follow up was scheduled for last December but the surgeon had to go somewhere so it was postponed and then I had the heart attack which postponed everything and surgery was delayed for 6 months but I rescheduled it for a couple of weeks ago but the surgeon was out of the country and couldn't get back in, maybe covid I don't know. Anyway, I just want it over with and the surgeon said that if this one didn't find anything to worry about I could wait 10 years which may not be a problem. I think this is my 5th or 6th colonoscopy and they haven't found any cancer yet although there was a polyp they couldn't remove 6 years ago that cost me my ascending colon. That surgery wasn't fun. Good luck, Mark.
