With the right amount of romance, soap and small town charm, "Virgin River" is the type of show that screams comfort viewing and is thus appealing to lots of viewers. It has been especially helpful in quelling real-world anxieties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is the sappy weird Hallmark plot story - the trials with oozed snail threads
*PBS Masterpiece series can be beautiful geographic British normal stories - a smidge soapy. Grantchester or "The Great/Tiny Creatures" (sp?)

Grantchester or "The Great/Tiny Creatures" (sp?) I very much enjoyed “Virgin River.” You are correct, it is a comfort viewing type of show. It was especially for me as I saw myself in the main character (Mel) i.e., youngish, healthcare professional, widowed and then finding love again. I think Annette O’Toole did a fine job as “Hope”. I enjoyed her feisty character. I do miss her beautiful red hair though. I think her former fiery red hair would have suited the character she played in the show. I have now moved on to “Better Call Saul” on Netflix. I enjoyed the character of Saul in “Breaking Bad.” I am now really enjoying the backstory of how “Saul” came to be.

The type of shows - comfort and alcohol and sex. It’s not really good a storyline. I’ve seen it at least 40 times. It’s pretty bad writers/actors And Annette has great red hair. She looks better with the superman series. The writers were pretty good. I tried that “Saul” several times. It seems to be too much violence for me. I enjoyed “Breaking Bad” and “ Motorcycles colors in middle California (sp?)” I couldn’t even watch the whole series. There’s way too much violence. Too blood and guns - There’s a lot of cops shows in England Irish Scotland all of Europe. There’s a little bit violence but not like the United States. Well I am PBS membership- a lot more song and also it in Europe movies and documentaries I am almost stopping at Netflix membership also.

I tried to watch it. I couldn't find a character to like, saw what appeared to be a soap opera, and passed.
