Green Chilis and cheese Tamales, side salad.  Trader John's frozen tamales. You can microwave them but they really should be steamed. I took the time to steam them and it was well worth the time. |

I was at a visitation yesterday for a good friend who died a year ago but his gathering was delayed because of Covid. Man, did his sister-in-law load me up with food. Roast pork, homemade baked beans, a lovely pasta salad. I'm not cooking for a few days, and I'm going to eat happily. When you live alone people feel sorry for you and load you up. I got loaded up real good.

I've been alone for a long time and I do have to do all my cooking -- buy the items, prepare, cook, ate the meal, clean up I was a sort of a chef/cook anyway - I was actually lucky I got free food when I had the pandemic (few great Restaurants donations in southern Marin County - early 2022) I wish I would get some homemade meals - part of this because I can't taste so it's hard to do cooking - I'm not saying "negative" it's just my life |
