Up early and down to my shop early, I got work to do and the energy to do it.

Very dark and still, thunder rumbling off in the distance, dewpoint at 70 degrees, bring on the rain! We are so parched here.

Good morning. It'll be about 80-107 here, pretty normal for a summer day in August. Tomorrow we'll start seeing lower temperatures and a chance of rain every day.

I just spent about 45 minutes whacking back the jungle in our backyard. Now there's room to walk down the walkway. We love the yard but the maintenance is getting to be more than a couple of aging people really want.

This afternoon I'll make some green chili for dinner. That's about it for excitement. Enjoy your day.

Up and awake. I went to give platelets again this morning. I think we conclusively proved my left arm is not the one to use anymore. I had some pressure issues last time, and this time the tech punched through the vein. We suspect it has a kink just where it disappears from view. Gotta say it hurt like hell, and they suggested I wait 8 weeks to donate again. I was game to try the right arm.

Got my new Bose ToneMatch mixer for my Bose L1 set up last night. Found a Taylor GC fingerstyle preset that has the guitar sounding great. And I found a Frank Sinatra vocal setting that has my voice sounding just the way I want it. Even found some trombone backing tracks in there and was able to dial my waist setting down to 40" so my wedding pants will fit. I'm all set. Pretty amazing unit.

I haven’t been able to sleep in for years. Of course, I didn’t go to bed at 8:15 years ago, either.

Last night I woke up screaming. I had that damned trombone dream again. Really frightening. A trombone band was playing Foggy Mountain Breakdown through a stack of Marshall amps.

Near 90 degrees today and tomorrow, then 80 on Monday.

Just pulled into Beverly Beach State Park. Last night camping for a bit. Cell service has been iffy in some of the parks. We were going to head for fish and chips at on of the best places on the coast but when we drove by the line out the door was at least 60 people deep, at 3:30 in the afternoon, so we bailed. Weenies, Mac and cheese, and a salad at the trailer will have to do.
