Good morning. I'll be off to our botanical garden in a few minutes. I can get in at 6:00 on Sundays. It will be a typical monsoon day here, about 88-102 with clouds.
Have a good day, one and all.

Up. A smidge of yard work to finish, which means I'll be out there for hours... Band practice at 5.

Another recording session may be in the works today. We'll see. After seeing that songs with the Clapton tag on them get traction on YouTube (our version of Hey Hey has been trending lately too), we will try to do a version Robert Johnson's Malted Milk. It's not in my vocal range as Clapton sings it, so I need to try it A or B (capo the 5th or 7th fret is easiest). It may not be ready for prime time yet, but we'll see how it goes.

Good morning
65F-79F cloudy.
Little Oven, shopping, shop, nap. Usual Sunday.
I did get many hours in the shop yesterday with taking a short break every now and then. I hope this continues.

Thoughts of mowing the backyard this morning were dashed by the steady downpour going on right now.
There was a loud boom outside in our neighborhood at 9:30pm last night that no one can explain. Shook the house good.
Plan to get together with the byrds (now that im past the 5 days from a covid exposure at the ship) this afternoon and play a little music. We try out new songs on each other.

I made it home from the great fishing expedition late yesterday, totally worn out, but with my Limit of walleyes and Sauger.
2.5 inches in the rain gauge this morning, that's from when I left to go fishing, I suspect most of it came last night.
I'll take it pretty easy today.

Played an outdoor show last night (Beer Garden). It was HOT, HOT, HOT and MUGGY! Ugh! Had to keep drying my hands between songs. We play again tonight. Fortunately, tonight is an indoor show.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Second day in a row we won't get out of the sixties. Which is fine, I loved the sixties, great music, good times, those high school days!

On my way back, home I’m on my way, I’m on my way back home. It was a lovely reunion, but I am very glad to be getting back to Maureen.

Back from a pleasant little Sunday drive, where I noticed a wide range of fuel prices, as high as $4.29/gal for 87 octane, as low as $3.99. Wasn't very long ago that the lowest price was $4.89, so that is progress, I reckon.

Interesting schedule yesterday: C. was flying back from a week in Portland (combination writing conference and visit with her nieces and grandnieces) and I decided to use the trip into the Cities to finally de-acquisition a couple of long-unplayed instruments* at Willie's. Trouble was, Willie's Saturday hours are noon to 4 p.m. and C's flight had an 11:10 p.m. arrival time--and at MSP's Terminal 2. Beyond the need to fill a lot of hours (you can only visit so many Half Price Books and coffee joints), there's the fact that Terminal 2 is a ghost town after 8:00, with the single outside-TSAland Caribou shop closed and nothing to do but sit near a restroom and read and check the flight tracker app on my tablet while the parking garage's virtual meter ticked on. And of course C's flight was delayed a half-hour, so we got home a bit after 1:00 a.m., where the cats asked why nobody had been around to feed them every 20 minutes.
No more travel for the rest of this year, other than IJam--and I'll be sure to have ten hours' worth of audiobook to keep me amused for that drive.
* A 1959 Guild M-30 and my Deering D-6 banjo. I decided that a fella only needs one six-string banjo.

Just wake up barely 9am - my blinds are still shut. I don’t even know what the weather is like but I’m sure it’s normal northern California
I was asleep for about four hours Unfortunately I am positive Covid-19 …… I like don’t have any coughing or fever or any problems. And I’m still positive it’s kind of negative and negative positive - it was weird I’m thinking about my friends and the planet. I did my pills and a little bit fluid I think it’s going to be firstly - Food My stomach is grumbling. But I don’t think I’m going to see people very much because I don’t wanna hurt anybody. I had a very strange movie but it was kind of interesting about being a teenager/young adult kid - I remember it - the memories Licorice Pizza Enjoy your days.

Interesting gig last night in New London playing background for a cocktail party introducing a new artist in residence for the theater. Turns out his gig is putting together “Catwalk”, a musical party/cross dressing show of sexual deviants to showcase society’s intolerance to sexual preferences. Pretty bizarre shit. Definitely a big old goofy world. Too complicated to describe but the evening ended with me driving my buddy Al to the cities and back to New London after the gig. It involved lost car keys and arriving back home at 4AM. Russ we may have passed on the road. There are two lucky deer still alive between New London and Elrosa because of my cat-like reflexes. It was a matter of inches.

I would like a 6-string banjo, but I do not have room for one in the budget. Any budget.
We went on a little hike yesterday, plus some e-bike shopping. We finally settled on a couple and put down a deposit. We're not picking them up until we both hit some personal goals. But I think I'll hit mine in October-ish or so.
Did my "avoid the nursing home" workout today. Nursing home has been avoided for the time being.
Did a little gardening, too, primarily straightening out the cucumber vines and giving them a place to go rather than getting all tangled up with each other. Also tied up the black prince tomato plant a little bit. It's about 4 feet tall now, which beats any tomato plant I've grown so far. Only two more weeks left for the garden, as the back yard gets torn up starting on the 22nd or so.
