Diane tested positive for Covid a while ago. That prompted me to do a test and I was negative. We've found guidance for her. I've been searching the internet and so far I haven't found any clear guidance as to what I should do. Has anyone been through this recently and gotten medical advice? Any information would be appreciated.

Both of you should be masking, all the time, and if she can isolate from you she should. Ventilate the house as much as possible. The stuff floats in the air, so if you can exchange the air frequently, there should be less of it. I think the incubation period is 3-5 days. So if you were exposed yesterday I wouldn’t think you’d test positive for another few days.
Hope it’s not serious for her.

Unless it concerns a church meeting, then doctor's orders are for you to stay away for two or three years, whichever is later.

You need to isolate in Vinton, Iowa for the next two and a half weeks.

My general approach is don't test. Saves a lot of trouble and gets you to pretty much the same place.

Mike is pretty much right on. If you remain asymptomatic, I would do a home test at day 3 of her isolation period and at the end of it, as well. If you develop symptoms, do a home test at days 2 and 4 of symptoms.
Masks are important.
I hope both of you do fine!

Thanks, Shannon. Her symptoms are mild so far.
I was concerned that I might have to quarantine and we'd have no way to get groceries, etc., but her doctor's office said probably not. I'll isolate otherwise but we do need to stay fed.

I don't understand the inconsistencies of this ailment. I was terribly sick with the first iteration for 5 weeks or so. Wendy tended me hand and foot, no masking ever, kissing often. She never got it.
Fast forward 16 months or so and she gets a very mild case...not as much as an ordinary cold.
I've heard wildy varying accounts. I've decided to worry as much as I would about a cold or flu. Which is to say not at all. If I get it I get it.

Don
I hope Diane is OK....
I had the flu - variant. One person hit my hand and talked with a lot of spittle. I had three weeks of difficult problems - tiny side-effects. I was tired tired tired tired and runny nose.....
I already did the self-tests and then also a little Covid19 test "Curative Van" in grocery parking lot (every Friday) The Curative Van can be sensitive test
My doctor told me don't ever do the Curative Van again
I had a medical pill for the Variant - (molnupravir){sp?}
