I have always found him interesting. He always has a bit of a disheveled look about him. I find his subject matter interesting.
This is a favorite of mine.

Wha’? I say, yes, you should go. He plays a nice guitar, that I'll say.

Slaid pronounced like slayed--not like plaid?

This is a favorite of mine. Cheery little tune. I like it. That’s Eliza Gilkyson singing harmony. Couldn’t see who the 3rd performer was. My impression is he is another sad sack like Townes. But a good one. After a while wallowing in the sadness gets wearing. It’s still great that our little burg is bringing in a name like him. I expect I’ll be there.

There is a video of him where he tells the audience how he was given advice to be more cheerful. “You know how to make them cry, but can you make them laugh?” I like his music but I don’t want to feel like jumping off a tall building after listening. Even though he is from somewhere back east, , he fits the mold of a Texas songwriter like Townes. To me, he is easier to listen to than Townes but there isn’t a lot of happy there. I like a good, sad song, though.

From what I have seen here I like him. The missing tooth is a nice touch.

The missing tooth is a nice touch. Some people will do anything for the art.

Looks very much (and sounds) like my 1957 There is just something about a good J-50 or J-45! It sounds great to my ears. Millring, if you do not yet have one, you should be shopping. Current models sound really good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRTQ4_8Y-bQMy 2019 model is great and I expect it will improve. I hope I am around to hear it when it reaches its peak. Thisone sounds good to me:
