So today I got a notion I might want to sing a song or two. My accompaniment is usually half-assed at best, and sometime I like to play lap style, I thought I’d see if anyone could pick up the slack by playing some pretty straightforward backing instruments.
I can provide chords and reference recordings. Nothing too crazy or fancy needed.
Just let me know - I may change my mind between now and then (and I need to find some songs).

Joy loves to do that and I could be persuaded as well.
Joy gets self-conscious if a lot of people want her to back them up because it looks like the Joy Ward show. She's had comments about that in the past.
I think there will be many attendees who'd enjoy backing you up.

(John B is overly modest about his talents.) True on that. He can prove that with a uke.

Even with a reduced complement, I suspect we can find multiple accompanists. Hell, you could probably assemble a five-piece band in about ten minutes. (Do we have a bass player? Should I bring my long-dormant Guild B-30 bass? I think I know which part of the basement midden it occupies.)

Sounds like I should throw my bass in and bring it along. Kind of a P bass sort of thing that goes direct through the mixer. I have no problem letting other play it as well.
Marcus Miller Sire P7 bass, that sounds and plays well.

If I could be there, I'd be happy to play back-up for anyone, all day, if they would put up with me.
Alas, I cannot be there.

Those of us who will be there will miss you who can't be. It's a smaller group (thanks, Covid!) but a really good group that could be improved by a bunch of you folks able to be here. But I'm sure somewhere a bunch of us will continue meeting each other far down the road.
