Mostly I want to do 2 mics into separate tracks, plus probably a 1/4” guitar input. Of course for live work there will be bleed between voice and guitar, unless I only use the pickup for guitar. I want to do separate EQ and FX for each. Then save them as distinct WAV files. I can bring the WAV files into the video editing software. Plus once you have something like this other possibilities will present themselves. If it’s video as the final, then I might suggest the Tascam because of 48 vs 44.1. Video is 48 and cd’s are 44.1.

Well I ordered the Zoom R20. The discussion about the preamps and the larger touch screen seemed to be really worthwhile features. I figure the Bit rate thing is probably not an issue at my level. Plus the price is $50 cheaper.
Anyrate, I ordered it yesterday (Amazon) and it showed up today already. Free shipping. It'll be a couple days before I start messing with it. I've got some mics I want to A, B, C, & D through it to see what works best for vocal and guitar. But I'm hopeful this is going to be a winner for me.

Interesting customer review. I can’t find details about the USB interface. Is it just a single stereo channel or do individual tracks make it to the computer’s DAW?

I am teaming up with some people to play along on a couple gigs. I’m billing us as “Marshall and the Deputies”. I just bought some Deputy Marshal badges off the internet for them. I get a US Marshall badge. No, I expect that I’ll be keeping it simple for starters.

Interesting customer review. I can’t find details about the USB interface. Is it just a single stereo channel or do individual tracks make it to the computer’s DAW? Everything is stored on SD cards. I expect to be able to WAV each track and save individually to the SD card. I can pop the SD card in a USB reader device I already have in case moving individual WAV files is tricky over a direct USB connection

Honestly, Marshall, I’d look at the zoom line. If there is a unit that can take two mics, record them to seperate tracks, and do the video, you’re winning. Do you really want to hall that Tascam board around?
If you can indeed get two wav files and video off the zoom, and load the wav files into a daw for mixing at home…that sounds like the winner to me. Those zoom units have decent preamps in them.

Lol. I should have read page 2. I think you made the right choice.
