Foggy morning. Lots of dew. It will hit 82 today but the feel of fall is in the air. We were in MI a couple of days ago and leaves are taking on that yellowish, getting ready to change look.

Nice to see you here, Howard, do come back. I note for the record that today is the first of the two-day Oktoberfest celebration in Chippewa Falls, Wis., adjacent to my hometown. Events include a stein-holding contest (the most passive of sports) and a sauerkraut-eating competition, which seems to me like it could be life-threatening. I doubt that Joey Chestnut will be on hand. It's tempting to motor over there, except it could all too easily be a beery drive back home. It's held at the Northern State Fairgrounds, conveniently located right next to the Leinie's brewery, which appears to be the sole supplier of beer for the fest.

Good morning, all!
Still warm here, but not the heat of summer. Fall is definitely easing in.
Clinic remains busy.

Cool here this morning but will warm up nicely to around 86 degrees later today. Gig in Williamsburg with Straightback Chair this evening at the Sundown Bar & Grill. It should be a lovely evening with little to no chance of precipitation. I have my first of two follow-up appointments for my earlier "being under the weather" event. Test results seem to indicate a good prognosis. Hoping the doctors do not burst my bubble on this bit of positivity.

Craving fish and chips today -- I'll head over to the nearby Stout's Pub, where theirs is walleye rather than the usual cod. Wash it down with an Oktoberfest brew.

Good morning. I took a walk, weeded a pathway out back and got busted at Wordle. It'll be mid-70s to mid-90s at our house. It'll still be hot at the end of September but it's tolerable at this point. Enjoy your day.

Pretty soon we may have to change the name of this place to the gustatory orifice. Cloudy, humid, shop beckons. Things are really busy. Some kind of workout later.

Early color! Such a beautiful park and locale of my babyhood.

Good morning
63F-80F drizzle now with rain off and on later.
I need to get up and moving but Riley insists on sitting on my lap, fur babies.
I have had at least 10 calls or texts since I got up at 8:00. One was Howard and another was AC dog aka Glenn Elvig who just want to tell me he was passing Vinton on his way to pick up a rescue Great Dane in Cedar Rapids.

Pretty soon we may have to change the name of this place to the gustatory orifice. That's my fault. Food is such a big deal in my life.

Sorry, Evan. Downloaded from the Internet. No fall colors to be seen quite yet.

Feeling old today after going to the shop at 6:30am and then spending 9 hours chasing around the shop and the countryside dealing with clocks. Was going to go to Wellman, IA for "Pizza on the Farm" to see Chad Elliott play, unfortunately, Sue took one look at me when I got home and said, "Let's just have some Brats on the grill and call it a day". Here's an article that will either make you feel old, if you are a computer geek like me. eyeondesign.aiga.org/we-spoke-with-the-last-person-standing-in-the-floppy-disk-businessAnd here is a little Chad Elliott so you can see what I'm missing:

Well, damn. A year or so ago I threw away a bunch of 3-1/2 inch floppies. There was nothing important on them and I had no way to read them.

Camping Ft Stevens, right next to Astoria. Had a early dinner at the Bowpicker, which enjoys quite the local reputation for excellence. They cook in a old 56ft fishing boat, on a trailer, and people que up for Albacore fish and chips on paper plates. Fabulous!
Flake, Wordle kicked both my wife’s and my butt today., so don’t feel alone.

I finally took the time today to go down to the shop and continue prepping the spruce plate on the Strad and Guarneri, this time to eventually start cutting the f holes. The pictures end with me in the process of bringing the thickness to an overall 4.5 mm that I can then cut the f holes. The plate will be reduced later as I finalize the thickness, but for now 4.5 mm will be fine.

"Flake, Wordle kicked both my wife’s and my butt today., so don’t feel alone."
Mike, my self-esteem is in intensive care but I expect it to pull through.
Edit: "Wordle enthusiasts are pissed. Friday’s puzzle stumped six in 10 players, according to The New York Times, ruining streaks for a vocal set who took to Twitter to complain. "
