Good day, the week begins! Looks sunny and cool here. One of the Venisons just trotted past my window, all by its lonesome.
I am enjoying a sliced Honeycrisp and a cup of dark-roast Eyetalian coffee -- they go remarkably well together, who knew.
Babzi and I had brunch at Holman's Table yesterday in honor of her recent b-day, and actually were a tad disappointed by some of the food, especially our identical omelets, grilled chicken, wild rice, spinach and Gruyere, but neither had any cheese and the chix was not seasoned. I dumped Cry Baby Craig's hot sauce over the whole mess and it became a lot better.

It’s 50 degrees heading up to a balmy 62. Lots to do today. Enjoy this early fall day.
I just can’t do hot sauce. Food shouldn’t hurt.

Good morning, all.
Temperatures are expected to cool this week, and we might get a glancing blow from Hurricane Ian late in the week.
Clinic marches on.

I have a friend that lives in St Petersburg, Florida and I've been getting regular updates on storm preparations there. She is on higher ground so there is probably no chance of flooding, but it doesn't look good for some parts of Tampa. Meanwhile, here, we are faced with another lovely fall day.

Enjoyed a big neighborhood potluck last night. Good food and good conversations. Nice to do something "normal." I have a medical appointment later this morning. On the way I'll swing by the post office to mail the property tax payment. On the way home I'll pick up a few groceries. Then Mr. H wants me to join him in watching science fiction become reality as the NASA spacecraft crashes into an asteroid's moon.

Good Morning
Partly cloudy, cool and breezy. Rain predicted later.
Started the morning with a response to a subpoena. A former client is suing her former tenant. The tenant had spilled powder coating waste all over her property; during 2020 I had supervised a cleanup (a simple dig & haul, in which contaminated soils are excavated and hauled to a landfill). She is now suing to recover costs. I am serving as a fact witness and nonretained expert witness. Last night I received an email from opposing counsel, forwarded by a former coworker who has the misfortune of receiving my company emails after I retired. The email was rather snotty, asking why I hadn't responded to a subpoena sent by mail, on paper, to my attention at my former employers address. My response was I retired and I don't have access to company files, and I wasn't aware of the subpoena. I could have said a lot more, but I have been schooled in litigation and you only answer the questions asked.
Writing a large check to the concrete contractor this morning, then buying lumber for the shed. I really hate working with treated lumber.
Have a fine Monday.

Good morning. I just got back from a walk/hike in the mountain preserve. Delightful. It was 68 degrees when I left but will probably top 100 later. That's warmer than normal but a cool-down is coming soon.
Yesterday our older daughter brought her boyfriend over so he could figure out why the "service engine" light in our spare Jeep wouldn't go out. He started the Jeep. The light didn't come on. Maybe he's a Jeep whisperer.
I have a light agenda which includes little more than getting a haircut. Enjoy your day.

Good morning 46F-62F sunny. Lots to do today, clean up that mess of a kitchen, bring washed laundry up from downstairs, get some shop time in, go pickup meds and hang the new backdrop in the studio. But it's not how much I have to do, I always have a lot to do, it's about time and energy. And naps, gotta get a nap in there somewhere. I will get some of it done and the shop time will be making a new battery extender for Todd. It really is easy once you have the parts but most people don't have the parts laying around, I do. When I go to my local hardware store I don't just get what I need right now. I get those things that in the past I said" Oh I wish I had some of those around". For me a trip to the hardware store is like walking around a rummage sale except instead of saying "that's nice but I don't need it" I buy it anyway for that time I do need it. A bad habit for a homeowner but a good habit for a shop owner. When I'm gone and Me Poor Darling Wife has to deal with it all she will probably curse me.

You've gotten into some pretty weird stuff over the years. Daryll, there is high ground in Tampa? Where? We've got several Soundhole Floridians. I hope you all hang in there as best you can.

Clouds are moving in, and the temp is at 60 degrees. The good news is that all of the weeds are at the same height on my lawn now; Translation: Yard mowed! I put on my jacket and gloves to get it done. The gig on Saturday night was a success and yesterday we went up to see our granddaughter. WOW, what a joy that little one is. Dad bought her a really nice uke and she had to show grandpa and play a tune with me. In order to play the uke, she needed a "pickle". It was a good thing that grandpa keeps a pick in his pocket and was able to produce the required "pickle" for her. Fortunately, my son-in-law had numerous guitars to choose from. Have I mentioned how much I like my son-in-law?!? Great guy, father, and husband. Could not ask more!

I am considering new hearing aids so I have an appointment with an audiologist. Today I filled out the pre-appointment paperwork. First question:
"What motivated you to set the appointment for your hearing test?"
I had to mull that over for a bit. After considering answering "Hemorrhoids," "back pain," or "vision problems," I finally went with "poor hearing."
Hope I got that right.
