It's almost nap time 3:00 and I was in the shop getting income work since 11:00. That's a pretty good day for me.

Well, today I truly earned my Ancient Citizen status. Just got back from picking up pot roast, noodles and steamed broccoli ... from Perkins!

Damn! Forgot to order prune juice!

Home from camping. It took a solid hour for both of us to unload the trailer. We apparently went nuts buying wine. Not sure where we will store it all. Still have all the crap in the back of the truck to put away, water filters, hoses, electrical cords, barbeque, fire pit, jeeze, camping is a lot of work.

Good to be home and able to stretch out. The trailer is nice, but it’s small.

I may get high sped Internet yet. I started asking Spectrum for a connection a few months ago. The first answer was $4000. I lined up the other 3 houses on the street who are all mired in DSL too and eventually Spectrum agreed to put in the backbone line up the road no charge. It went in a month or more ago. 3 times installers have shown up but the backbone connectors weren't installed so they couldn't install. The 3rd guy who was here Saturday after I explained the situation to him said he's have it fixed by Monday or Tuesday. Yesterday morning as I was driving out of my driveway I noticed there was something new at the end of the cable they had installed. I hope that meant progress. Today a crew showed up unexpected and ran a cable from the backbone port to my house. That has to be progress. When they left they said I should call Spectrum and schedule the installation. To my surprise the woman scheduled installation for 3:00 this afternoon. I suspected that was wishful thinking. The installer called a little before 4:00 for directions and said he'd be over by 4:30. That had to be progress!!! He arrived, looked over the plan and then before doing anything stupid like drilling holes he ran a test on the cable connection. It sort of worked but not as well as it has to so he has another "Night" crew coming to fix up the connections and the installation is rescheduled for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I wonder if it's an oncoming train.

Got an e-mail from Spectrum saying the night crew solved the problem so the installation is still scheduled for 1:00 this afternoon. Hope it works this time.
