Up and awake. We are headed to the Bee Creek Cafe in a few, and then I'm meeting a good friend at the Depot in Leavenworth for breakfast. Jules and I will see Wolf Alice in concert at the Truman tonight. I'm really looking forward to that! Meanwhile, when it hits really close to home...   |

Good morning, Soundholers. Major temperature drop! 75° yesterday has become 52° this morning, with a high today of 61°. That's Fahrenheit, btw. However, last night, with our daughter being out of town with friends (yes, parents there, too), my wife and I took advantage of the time off and weekend closed-street program here and dined out at one of our lovely local Italian bistros, whose owner we have known since we moved here almost 19 years ago. Two things: 1. I really don't like trying to get forkfuls of baby arugula from the plate to my mouth—it's just too unpredictable; and 2. the rigatoni in cremini and porcini mushroom ragu was heaven.
Since we sat at a table outside, we had Bianca the American Eskimo-Lhasa Apso-Minitature Poodle-Newfoundland-Dutch Shepherd with us—she enjoyed the excessive amounts of attention passersby and restaurant staff were lavishing on her.

Good morning
35F-62F mostly sunny
DaWife is on vacation so she gets to sleep in. I on the other hand have to get up for Saturday shop. I think waffles for breakfast.
Being low on strings and no time to order some in I took a trip to Willie's American Guitars yesterday. They had what I needed and I got a large discount, Nate said I'm family. The new place is nice but kind of a rabbit warren with lots of rooms going off a long hall. I remembered to buy a new Snark tuner for my bench as the old one needs a good whack to make it work.

Thanks, Marty. For a guy who didn't want a dog in the first place, I have grown kind of fond of her. 🐺 🥰
She's a good dog, rescued from somewhere in East Tennessee. Four and a half years old now; we have had her since she was about six months old. Very devoted to us, her "pack."

Light frost on the grass & rooftops this morning. I am not sure how cold it got but it was 34 when we got up. I am sure the pumpkins had frost on them.
It will get up to 55 today. Fall has a hold on things.

My soon to be 14 granddaughter Corrine got third overall in the all school Denver cross country meet yesterday. Her school team won the meet. Her twin sister has always been the big jock and Corrine the more cerebral so this is cool. She is in the red sweatshirt,  |

I’m up. Coffee soon. Nita had a restless night,because of the shingles thing. I’m debating with myself about what to make for breakfast, pancakes eggs and sausage, or cheerios. I think cheerios might win.

The ground was covered with frost this morning, it's warming up nicely now. In about an hour I'll start loading the car for this afternoon's gig. We'll be joining Todd at 42 degrees North, a new winery, for some fun and music.

I was stumped by the US Wordle spelling for a while. Not as vexing as that BANDY, SANDY, RANDY, CANDY, HANDY, DANDY crap the other day though.

We had a pretty good freeze Friday AM, down to 24 and it sat there for several hours. The tender annuals (tomatoes, zinnias, etc.) are gone. But perennials and hardy annuals (like petunias) are in fine shape. It has to get colder longer to get them to call it quits (petunias are tough). Tough veggies, like cabbage and brussels sprouts are now ready to be picked (they seem to like a mild freeze to sweeten up).
We are now officially in Indian Summer (a stretch of nice mild weather occurring after the first good freeze). Dry and sunny with leaves approaching full color. Shaping up to be a nice long and mild fall.
Hunters' Moon tomorrow night. (tonight is close enough, it will be pretty darn full and bright)
