This would be an excellent student horn. It's a Yamaha, and like Taylor, it doesn't matter what level the instrument, it will be as well made as their pro horns (excellent). (This can not be said about Bach, whose student horns are made by a variety of venders and are variable build quality.)
Yamaha 600 and 400 series trombones are excellent. Their Allegro series is a good bet as well. You just can't go wrong with Yamaha... in anything. If they build it, they build it right.
Jupiter horns, their recent one, have gotten really good. They are now a trustworthy outfit.
This is a pawnshop horn described as "excellent" at the top while admitting to showing "signs of usage" down below. I wouldn't touch it, but it will give you an idea of the market. For around a grand, a nice 448 or 620 can be found.
