Out to see the eclipse a bit ago--moon was very red but also looked particularly small.

Marshall, you were awake frighteningly early.
Back to seasonable temperatures here today, with a high of 56° predicted. Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good Morning
We have the same weather NYC does. Woke up shortly before 5:00 and saw a crescent moon in the early stages of eclipse. Clouded over immediately thereafter.
Headed out early and did my part to defend democracy (which is very much at risk in the state of Michigan). Over 80 people from our precinct voted before 8:00.
Off to get an oil change, thence back to the shed before picking up eldest granddaughter.
Have a fine Tuesday one and all. Don't stay up too late tonight.

I got up at 4:00 am to see the eclipse, nice. It was a noisy night here, they pulled into the cornfield, across the road from me, at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. They were still combining when I went to bed, and this morning fhe field is bare. Big equipment, I think the field is 76 acres.
I'll head out to vote between 9: and 10: and then get ready for music practice this afternoon.

I just dripped breakfast burrito all over the crotch of my pants. The little old ladies at the voting place should be really impressed.

We voted last week courtesy of our vote by mail system. So glad all the campaign ads are over. I suspect the Rs are going to have a good day. It’s a shame we can’t seem to find common ground between the two parties.
High of around 70 in the desert, might get some rain from the giant storm on the west coast, but so far, it hasn’t got the streets wet. I washed my Vespa yesterday, and took it fir a spin around the neighborhood. Running good, no issues. And I seem to have the old Mercedes battery charged up. We will see if it starts today.
Blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Good morning. Good for all of you who have voted or will vote. My parents taught me that voting was not only a right but a duty.
We'll have 50s - 70s before a front comes through tomorrow and cools things down.
I woke up to a different world. The cataract surgery made my left eye brighter but it also changed the hue and intensity of colors. I walked outside with my coffee and wondered where that beautiful magenta hue in the northwest sky had come from. In photospeak, I'd say the white balance has shifted towards blue and magenta. Saturation and brightness have been boosted. I checked the photos I'd done recently to see of my bad eyes had ****** them up. Mostly not, but a lot of them looked over-sharpened. A blurred eye had been trying to give the photos crisp edges and had overdone it.
All's well. Enjoy your day.

You're supposed to tuck right up to the table when you eat anything that has drip potential. And spread a napkin on your lap, as well as wear black trousers. I swear, you country boys...

Off to vote, then some errands, and then shop work. Cold, gray, blustery day.
Unfortunately the wind is from the south so all the leaves that blew onto my neighbor’s lawn Sunday are blowing back.

He was in the truck. Steering with his knee while opening a beer one-handed. He's country. (to Major's credit, he was wearing pants, fortunately, considering the hot burrito)

Good morning
34F-51F cloudy.
Sunday at The Little Oven didn't work out. It was a 45 min wait for a table when we got there and I didn't just want to eat, I NEEDED to eat. So we went to the 5-8 down the road a bit and had a nice breakfast before doing our grocery shopping.
I will take her to the Little Oven this morning before we vote and run a few errands. But I have to get her up and moving because once again I need to eat, starting to feel a little light, food helps but I don't want to eat before we eat. You know what I mean, or at least the diabetics do.

Well, we just got back from voting. I don't know what this means but there was only one race to vote on. The parking lot was full and we had to park up the road and walk back to the firehouse to vote. Our county is about 50/50 white and non-white but I only saw 2 black women voting. One had a cane and I held the door for them when they came out. Usually we see a mixed group voting but today's group was 90% white.

I'm excited. And not just because the political ads and calls will soon be over. I booked a hotel stay for the first time in over 2 years. It's just a drive trip to visit family and friends, but that's progress. Surprised to see that my Marriott points were still there. Not enough to use, but still available. The standard Zoom social call this afternoon. Not sure why I'm still doing this, as I have an in person social life of sorts these days. Got medical appointment with my PCP tomorrow and a dental appointment the next day. Several more appointments for Mr. H and me coming up, all routine. Planning to try a Mexican restaurant new to us tomorrow night. Across the river in the fancy Foothills. elcisnerestaurant.com/Their seafood choices look good. But I'll probably have pork adobado. We had crab cakes last night and crab in lemon butter the night before. We bought a pound of Phillips lump crab meat at Costco for $27.99 and got 2 very nice meals out of it. Would do that again.

I'll have to vote on the way home from work this evening. Several races in Alabama without a good choice, but so it goes.
I'm back at work after being sidelined yesterday by a bit of a GI bug.
