Basic Training. I just got off weapons guard duty @ 2:00 am. My drill sergeant was the night company commander and he was asleep at the desk. I borrowed his hat for a quick clandestine photo.

It's a winter wonderland out there. The landscape flipped head over tails. Brown fall to white winter. All all is as it should be... but it could have waited a couple weeks and been what it should be then.

Our snow total from the storm was a bit of a fizzle. 9". We stayed on the eastern edge of it through its entirety. The center of the state was in the 14-16 inch range. As the ground wasn't frozen, the more snow the better.

Thanks to all the vets. I am not one, for physical reasons (not heel spurs).

My Green Beret grandson is currently in some small African country protecting us from something. Hope to have him back to his home in Fayetteville, NC by Christmas.

I just re-glued the soles to some of my favorite boots. Contact cement is wonderful stuff.

Now it is time to try to figure out a Stevie Ray Vaughn tune by tablature and music notation, but I either don't understand or Stevie's playing is not notatable. I will likely resort to watching Stevie and a youtube lesson.
