Good morning, all. I have trouble believing it's already December. We'll have about 42F to about 70F and sunshine.
It'll be my usual Thursday: Zoom breakfast meeting and a grocery run, plus odds and ends.
I was glad not to go bust in Wordle. 5/6*

Yup, it's December. I promised my son I'd stay out of the hospital this year. Last year I didn't get my Christmas shopping done before the heart attack and that messed up Christmas. I started Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago trying to do better this year. Packages started arriving yesterday but it was kind of funny because all the shipments were done UPS Smartpost where UPS delivers to the post office and they do the last mile except the post office doesn't deliver to my street address so I have to pick packages up at the post office. The packages have a UPS tracking number and a USPS tracking number. Well, once the packages got to Salisbury, Md. UPS sorting site they must have noticed that they had 6 packages for my address and some for my neighbor's house because I saw the truck at his house and then it came over to my house and the driver gave the 6 packages to me so they'll never get to the post office. Checking the tracking numbers, the UPS numbers say delivered yesterday but the USPS numbers say awaiting package. I don't know what that does to the USPS system since they'll never arrive.
Sunny but cold here. Have a good December.

Morning. December. Entering the long homestretch to Spring. I just got my first tomato catalog, so it is official, there will be a Spring. Just three or four short months to go. Maybe five. Got to see how it goes.

Good morning. 5F-30F partly cloudy. We're almost out of milk and a few other things but I'm NOT going out until tomorrow when I go to the Doc's. There's a Cub Foods within a block and it will be a bit warmer out, relatively speaking. DaWife woke up with the sniffles and congestion, not worried but Kaiah is bringing us some test kits anyway. I've been tired a lot lately but I've got things to do so best get on with it. Riley and I will nap later but right now he has a case of the zoomies so I'll break out the mouse on a string toy and let him work it out. We have Fur Babies. Paul reminded me. 109 Days Until Spring.

Sunny and cold here. The new place looks out over woods on three sides. Peaceful.
Have good ones.

Morning. Got to drive an '85 Jeep CJ7 30 miles in a snow storm this morning. Never could get my iPhone to work the stereo. Good times.

Observations, emotions:
It's my youngest grand-nugget's birthday; she is now 2.
It's the date 33 years ago that my firstborn's brain cancer was diagnosed.
I'm hoping the sun and warmer temps will melt my driveway, which turned to glare ice once the tractor guy blew the snow off it yesterday.
After editing a recipe for stuffed manicotti this morning, I now have a huge craving for Eye-talian food, and may have to act on that after my shift ends.
I learned yesterday that the colleague I work most closely with is dealing with a really tough situation -- her husband has a fast-growing cancer in his lymph nodes, and surgery is set for tomorrow. They are only in their mid-50s, and I ache for them.
I have a pot of water simmering on the nearby stove to humidify the joint a bit. Fried eggs on the agenda. Blueberries, milk and pills already consumed, now coffee.

Still fighting the crud. I think we are headed to San Diego this am, to visit Bird’s Surf Shed, a repository of classic collectible historic surfboards. Then lunch at El Indio, and if feeling ok after that a trip through the San Diego art museam at Balboa park. Then back up to Carlsbad and back to the desert tomorrow. Head back to the PNW on Monday.

Good morning.......
I'm almost awake. I have so much paperwork to do. I have an interview and I have a cleaner - maybe she will put a lot of my garbage in the recycle bin.
I'm still thinking about my old departed Gillian Harris My friend found beautiful pieces - pianist Dana Cunningham
I've been vertical just barely
I have holiday music on my computer.
Enjoy your day

So, as I often do, I told my wife I didn't want anything for Christmas - primarily because I already ordered stuff I wanted. Now as the packages arrive, I have to decide what to open now and what to hold for Christmas. The Dutch oven and cast iron skillet have arrived; I may want to cook something with them now rather than wait 4 weeks.
The banjo arrived safe and sound, or at least as safe as sound as a shipped banjo can arrive. I can't really call it a banjo - more like a collection of parts. Gryphon had to send it out immediately under eBay's agreement, so I still don't have the additional parts that will make it a banjo yet. I've also reached out to Aquila to see what strings they think might work best. They make probably the best "minstrel" banjo string set; it's just a matter of figuring out what strings of theirs would work best for strings 5 & 6.

I've been putting stuff up on my Reverb Store. With the help of Captain Donn I have been getting better at taking photos. Donn is a pro at taking photos for commercial ads and has given me some very good tips. I put these up on Reverb today. The trick used to bring out the gold Waverly name also made the dust on the black areas show up, but now that I know it I will be more careful. Thanks Donn.
