Never thought I would, but I liked this quote I saw on Facebook.
"Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been."
I can't say I've become that person but I'm not as far away from him as I once was.

If David Bowie is correct, it doesn't say much about the me I am now. Or maybe it says uncomfortably too much.

Well, just because a person, through luck or talent, has achieved a measure of wealth (and pampered status) doesn't totally preclude them from having a thought we might benefit from hearing. Hell, I have none of the above, but you might be amazed at the wisdom I come up with!  |

I suppose that Bowie could have only talked about mundane matters and avoided bringing up thoughts and ideas in his interviews, it would have been odd though.

I suppose that Bowie could have only talked about mundane matters and avoided bringing up thoughts and ideas in his interviews, it would have been odd though. I’m actually an admirer of Bowie’s work. I didn’t mean to put him down. And I’m not at all familiar with his circumstances. I just think that such icons have most likely lost any direct connection to the circumstances of most people. Anything Bowie had to say about his craft, his work, or the artistic efforts of his peers is very likely valuable. |

I suppose that, built into that quote, is the realization that life has been okay for the listener, at least up to the observation that I am not the little shit I could have been. I like, it. I don't care if Bowie said it, or someone else. |
