Ugh. Cloudy and gray today (but going up to 56°F). I have to go to the office today. My employers don't believe in national or Federal holidays. Work, work, work.
The fabulous Lisa Simone, with her guitarist Hervé Samb, who proves once again that it's the magician, not the wand.
(Yes, Nina was her mom.)

Off to Amazon the county. Since we didn't have Amazon on Friday OR Saturday, today could be rather unpleasant.

Back among the living-or close to it, anyway. Funky looking day so far. Stay well.

Good morning. We'll have about the same weather as New York except that we'll see some sun this afternoon. Yesterday's soggy weather will help the forests and desert.
Off for a walk. Enjoy your day.

Good morning.
21F - 29F cloudy.
Busy day yesterday, Little Oven, shopping and then a small "Happy you're still with us" gathering with friends. Finally got my truck paid off but DaWife did all the driving. I did get my new router table put together without really lifting it but will have to get someone to move it to its stand after I make the adapter plate.

Sizable snowfall on the way, so I motored to TJ's this morning for survival supplies -- blueberries, yogurt, cheese, milk, eggs, hot dogs, dark chocolate, pasta, butt wipe and, of course ...

36 degrees this morning and heading to a high of 40. Rain is 100% for tonight so that could mean some slick roads tomorrow. Glad I am not driving the School bus anymore.
Working on some new songs and they are kicking my hind end. It is tough to get out of bluegrass rhythm and into something different...but I am trying. When you have played a particular style for decades, it becomes difficult to teach the old dog, new tricks, but it does help you grow as a player.

Dinner at "Jake's" last night was wonderful. I had chicken Marsala, with mashed taters, green beans and carrots, followed by cheese cake with raspberry sauce. But best of all was the company. My long time friend gave me a photo of a fishing adventure, from around 1975. If the download works, it shows us near the Alsea River with some sea run cutthroat trout. What probably does not show are my black eyes from my short lived street fighting career. Attachments:

Back from Sport Clips, where I got a long overdue beard trim from the lovely and talented Veronica. Very fair fee of $10, and Veronica gets a $10 tip. All the cutters there are females, all the cuttees are males. It's an interesting business model.
I feel like I lost five pounds of fur.

"playing Chopin and something more….."
played the ivories at the Brain Center - Chopin, Schumann (Robert), Withers, Beethoven, JS Bach - Prelude in C major (not the Jesus Christ Bach - his son), Hymnal - my C major medley, another Bach's - Dm Toccata in D minor, more Chopin preludes
Sometimes I did it the 2nd time - they'll remember it anyway
They all clapped - they live in loonies and good goonies and good souls - Medical Hospital (Brain Injury Network Bay Area) Kentfield, CA
I'll be back in the lickin' ivories and my fingers - not a sticky sauce

I've had the Filipino frozen version from an Asian food store in Waterloo, I thought they were great. www.hungryhuy.com/filipino-beef-empanadas/

My Chicago kid and granddaughter left today but I got a lesson in tying flies before. He did three and then coached me through one. I did not photograph mine! I found it not to be as easy as he made it look. Another bottomless subculture. Tonight we watched Inherit The Wind. 1960 version with Spencer Tracy and Fredrick March. What an acting tour de force! Great movie.

Had one of these for the first time today, really tasty and the crust was super-flaky-fine. Would buy again, for sure,
