Anyone here use TIDAL? tidal.com/It's a music streaming service with over 90,000,000 tunes plus hundreds of videos. That's about twice what other services provide. On top of that, they are set up to pay more money directly to the creators and artists. Sounds like our kind of service. I'm trying it out.

It doesn't say anything about how artists get their music on the platform. I think it's on their site. I can't remember where. I think if you want your tunes on there you need to subscribe at some level and you are paid by them directly. But their library includes all commercial music as near as I can tell. They also seem to do a good job of figuring out what you'd like. Their algorithm may not be as good as Pandora's Music Genome but it seems pretty good. One advantage to TIDAL is that it delivers much higher fidelity than other streaming services. If your ears are younger than mine, that might be a plus.

I looked at it. I use Apple Music, and I can't find any significant difference to the end user between the two. Price is about the same, and I can stream and download lossless files.
I don't know how Apple reimburses the artist, though.

I pay for YouTube Premium because I hate ads in my videos. As part of YouTube Premium I get YouTube Music for free. Or rather it is not a separate service to pay for. As such, I'd rather not pay for anything else, so I got rid of Apple Music.
Tidal says it's "artist owned," so that would be a reason to support it. However, I believe the artists who own it are already well-compensated.
