Happy Birthday, Steve McQueen.
Terrence Stephen McQueen (March 24, 1930 - November 7, 1980) was an American actor. His antihero persona, emphasized during the height of the counterculture of the 1960s, made him a top box-office draw for his films of the late 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He was nicknamed the " King of Cool " and used the alias Harvey Mushman in motor races. — Wikipedia

Mornin' Howard, and anyone else who reads this.
Steve McQueen is cool. Sheryl Crow is cool. Doyle Bramhall II, playing guitar and backing vocals on this song, is also cool. Me, not so much, but I've made my peace with that.

It is cool today, which is better than cold. Might rain, but it also might not. Coffee is hot but also cool. Coffee is also much needed.

I am planning on a good day, with sunshine and above-freezing temps in the forecast, only a half-shift of work, a Trader Joe's run, and a stop at Culver's for a pot roast sammich (extree onion and horseradish sauce, please) and a cup of Cappuccino Cookie Crumble espresso custard.

Good morning, the sun is shining brightly, highs in the low 50s this afternoon.
My big plans for the day: 1. Get my bike out and go for a short ride. 2. Go to Vinton this evening and see if, as Todd has proclaimed, the Chinese restaurant really has inside dining again.

Morning. Birds look hungry. So, I will be filling the feeders after coffee. I mean, sheesh, what did they do before I put up feeders? Sunflower seeds get low for just one day, and they are banging on the windows and bitching. All right, all ready. I'm coming. I'm coming. Hold your feathers.

Good morning. I'm not sure of the weather but it's been on the cool side. Very pleasant.
Yesterday my wife and I had coffee with a retired doctor and his lovely wife in our backyard. They're both legal immigrants from different countries who belong to our church. They live a short distance away in a gated community we can almost see from here. They were still awed by what could be found in a nearby backyard (ours) that looks ratty even to us. It's now filled with plants that are very diverse. That due to many things including my wife's local origin and some of my wonkish hobbies. They were surprised to find flowers that they didn't think would grow here and flowers that seemingly wouldn't fit because of my wife's early family members. There are plants that were known to pre-Columbian peoples and cultivated for food and that nobody thought would grow around here. Just by inertia we've found ourselves in a pocket within a pocket etc. of a modern American city. Neither of us like much of anything outside of our immediate neighborhood but it's truly amazing to realize what's here. We're lucky.
Best wishes to you all. Good to be back. (My computer is seriously screwed up so I'm not really sure what gets through or what it may look like at the moment.)

(PS: I know I could get the computer fixed somewhere nearby, but at the moment that's like somebody in an Amish community trying to service his wagon.)

Good morning. Coffee is ready. Toast is in the toaster, and I’m starting a food diary for the nutritionist I’ll speak with in a few days.
We were supposed to see lowered snow levels this am, but so far nothing at my house which is about 200 feet above sea level. Supposedly sticking above 600 feet. It’s going to be mid 70s in Palm Springs and Hawaii today, apparently we put our house in the wrong place.
Mike
On edit: is snowing here. Big fat wet flakes. Not sticking though.

Had 20 people at our monthly neighborhood dine-out last night. And the place was packed with 2 other large groups and other customers. I had chicken, bowtie pasta, and spinach in a garlicky cream sauce. Mr. H had manicotti because of his recent oral surgery. He did manage to eat his half of the fried calamari appetizer that we ordered. And we shared a bottle of Cabernet that was acceptable, but not great. Good conversation, what I coud hear of it.
Low of 49 last night. People are complaining about how long the "cold" weather is hanging on. I'm not one of those people. A grocery run is on today's agenda. Costco tomorrow afternoon, which includes an appointment for Mr. H at the hearing aid center. We're hoping they can just reprogram the ones he has. And he thinks getting a Costco pizza is a good idea. Not sure how he'll manage to eat that, but he'll find a way.

Goog morning
17F-42F sunny
Tyler and Sam came by yesterday and move some things around for me so the shop is almost there. I will do some work today while Dawife is getting a eye check up. But more coffee first.
I'm a dumbass, I didn't know that the Zero sugar and Diet stuff we,ve been buying is just as bad for diabetes as regular stuff. So no more No Sugar apples and cinnamon instant oatmeal. I'll get the regular stuff and spice it myself. I wonder how garlic and onion would be?
With the weather warming up my kitty's are spending more and more time outside, I'm their doorman.

Sorta sunny, rain and wet snow tonight and tomorrow.
Workshop time, fitting hinges on shed doors in a warm and dry location, plan to have all the holes drilled and screws tapped before I go outside to hang them.

I still bitch about it, even though I'm still partially protected by a unique microclimate. We're still going to move at the speed of light from delightful to hellish.

We hit 67°F yesterday but only 48° today, then into the mid 50s the next few days. Spring is sneaking up on Indiana.
Tomorrow is the last of 30 days wearing a heart monitor attached to my chest. So far it has continually detected a heartbeat, and apparently fewer of them are squirrelly.* The Eliquis seems to be taking hold and I feel better.
*Not squirrelly in the Indiana state rodent sense, but in the phone call from your cardiologist sense.
