It's Monday.
We have a few more things to pack, a rug to roll up, and some furniture to move in prep for tomorrow's start of the kitchen renovation.
Also some strategic things to work out, like dish washing in the bathtub! Yikes.
I'll also take some "before" photos.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Just advice from a been there, done that person. Use as many disposable things as possible. Washing dishes in the bathtub causes its own set of problems. With no kitchen, you are not going to be able to actually do any cooking and what you can do will be far more troublesome than you can imagine. Good luck.
Drizzly here & 52. Hummingbirds made their arrival yesterday. Yay!

Good morning from where it's just getting light. A week from now I'll be able to drive again legally. I look forward to it. Today will involve odds and ends. Enjoy yours.

Back from Boise. Passed through Salmon, Challis, Stanley, Hailey, Ketchum on the way there and back. Saw some country for sure. Good to be home. The best guitar shop in Boise by a mile 12thfretmusic.com/

Good morning.
53F-73F mostly sunny.
Client at 10 and then a quick trip to the Post Office. Might as well fill up on gas while I'm out as the truck is getting low. Amazing that we fill up about once a month now, we just don't go anywhere.

Good morning, all.
Howard, I hope all goes as smoothly as possible. We are contemplating a re-do of our kitchen as well as our master bathroom, so you may have company in your experiences soon.
There are rumors of impending employee drama here at the clinic today. It should not involve me, which is good. I'm not a fan of workplace drama.

Back at writing today. Had about a two week break while we went away, and I was waiting for feedback from various folks. I’ll start final revisions on the first book of a new series, which is a good feeling.
Beautiful spring day on the left coast. I will, as usual, do some music later — recorded guitar, bass and lead vocal on a version of You Won’t Matter Anymore, and now comes the hard part, which is, what to add to the basic arrangement. And I’ll hit the weights this afternoon.

On my morning walk I found that this was running through my head. What a spirit spring is bringing.

Hazy sunlight, might rain later.
Muddling through another Monday. Laundry, grocery shopping, granddaughter pickup, etc. Just enough mundane but necessary stuff to preclude progress on bigger projects.

Hey, I’m up. Coffee and a heated slice of Trader Joe’s Almond riing. Watched “A Man Called Otto” last night on Netflix. Really really good movie. We had seen the original Swedish film, which is also really good. But Tom Hanks is a force. The rest of the cast is also excellent.
In guitar playing news, I found a new way to play a C#7 that I can actually manage without having twelve double jointed fingers. I needed that chord for Jerry’s version of “Deal” which I can now sort of play. Hey at my age I’ll take any progress I can get. The shape is xx3424

Agreed that Otto is a sparkling movie. On the other side, a friend told me Cocaine Bear was one of the funniest movies he's ever seen. My friend had never steered me wrong before but that one is without redemption.
Just came out the other side of a kitchen remodel. Did it all myself but if it were an option I'd have preferred your method, Howard.

Deep River Blues, ala Doc, uses that form moved up to the 5th fret as the E7 that starts the tune with the 2nd chord being Edim7 on the 5th fret. Of course, move the G# over to the 6th string and you have a standard C#7. Or instead, 4x34xx or x434xx, or 4x34x4 also fit the bill.

You'd be surprised at how much playing a ukulele will help your fancy chords NOTE, because you're just focused on the top 4 strings in the same relation to a guitar. BTW, flip around the fingers on the 2nd and 4th strings and you have your E7 (xx2434). Or if you move that 4th string finger down a fret and keep the other fingers where they are you have your C#m7 (xx2424) which is the relative minor of the E7 (xx2434). I learned a lot about major chords and their relative minors from playing steel guitar with Cornflake, who used the relative minor often in the songs he wrote. The way I tuned my guitar, I had the major chord on the top 3 strings and the relative minor at the same fret but strings 2-3-4. NOTEI sort chords between "cowboy chords" and "fancy chords" (everything other than a cowboy chord).

I'm back home, drove about half way home this morning in the rain. I made a slight detour on my way home so I could stop at the cabin and look for morels. Didn't find any. I did go out and pick a nice bunch of asparagus when I got home, I'll have some for dinner, grilled or steamed.

A new Holiday gas station/convenience store recently opened next to my local supermarket and today I got a mailing from them, with coupons offering a one-time gas fillup with a discount of 15 cents/gallon, a free Nathan's hot dog or Johnsonville brat and a free coffee or cappuccino of any size.
Hey, I can be bought ...
