No chance of rain here, but lots of flooding in my hometown of Billings, MT. Low here this morning of 68, heading for 94, which is not bad. Dentist this afternoon. Then this evening we're guests at a private club. Not sure how that happened, as our host is somebody we don't know well. We sat next to her at a group dinner and somehow got the invitation. Mr H is excited about visiting the place. I am more uncomfortable with the whole thing. Do not bring a checkbook or credit card.
Marty, you are correct. Charges go on the member's account. She has already told us it's her treat. That's part of why I'm uncomfortable. She's a neighbor that we don't know well. And how do we reciprocate? Although she probably has so much money that it means nothing to her.

I got a call this morning from a friend that works in my building. She said to not bother coming in. The police have evacuated the building due to a suspicious package found in? near? the building.
It makes me wonder about the people I have sued lately. One had a sign on the gate blocking her driveway that had a picture of an AR-15 and stated, "If you can read this sign, then you are within range."
There are also a couple domestic relations attorneys that office in the building. Those cases frequently get heated. My old law partner did domestic relations law. His mailbox got shot up during a cantankerous divorce. I think that the ex-husband also put a few rounds through his ex-wife's house.
I will put some Kevlar on soon and go check out the scene.

There are risks in what we do. I think I pissed off a couple dandelions yesterday, but I'm heading out with the hoe again, regardless. I might wear my bike helmet, however. Just in case.

The suspicious package was left at the Planned Parenthood office, about a block from our building.

I was thinking there was going to be a sales pitch of some sort. Great price on a cruise to Pitcairn Island or timeshare package in Libya. Free meal before selling you a grave plot 50 miles out in the desert.

No, it's more like a country club for rich cowboys. We are not cowboys or all that rich. Although I'm from Montana and Mr. H is from Texas and we can manage to fit in, so I suppose that counts for something. mountainoysterclub.com/

Good morning, still a little Smokey here. I'll be heading out soon going to my cabin for a couple days. I might even get in a little flint knapping while I'm there, I haven't been doing much of that lately. I'll probably make a campfire using a bow drill too. Gotta get back to my paleo roots. Can you microwave a frozen Bob Evans sausage biscuit with a bow drill? The first task for me is to actually get a bow drill fire started, it's been several years since I've done it. Good news is, it's really dry, so finding dry wood will be easy. I like a hard maple bit, drilling into pine. I couldn't microwave anything, but when I get a good bed of coals, I could air fry your biscuits.

That is typographically incorrect. Here is a single ellipsis character followed by a period, … . Yes, it’s a single character made of three dots. The ellipsis has been a single three-dot character throughout the history of typography. You could count the period at the end of the sentence as a fourth dot but it isn’t part of the ellipsis. Also, one would not normally use an ellipsis to end a sentence.

Dub, I have not seen any authority re the spacing of the dots. But I agree that the fourth dot is a period unless the writer intends to end as a question. Then it would be: "...?" www.grammarbook.com/punctuation/ellipses.asp

In Windows apps, you can type an ellipsis using Ctrl+Alt+. In IOS the on-screen keyboard has an ellipsis above the equal sign in number mode. <VBG> (very big grin)

My excuse: When I learned about ellipses I was in law school. We had typewriters and the little blue book of Grammar and Punctuation. No computers. So no ability to ellipse as you describe. (Yes, Bill, I know Ellipsis is a noun. I did that just for you).

The local Vietnamese bakery is calling my name for lunch today. Banh mi, please. This actually turned out to be early supper -- I went with the Mi-Sant Special banh mi that has char sui pork, slices of hardboiled egg, and all the usual banh mi veggies. I also brought home three chubby spring rolls, with lemongrass chicken as the protein. Polished off half of the sammie and one of the spring rolls -- that should hold me until midnight! Damn, their baguettes are good.

I think it's Wednesday, actually. Oops. Did you have to walk in the smoky air today, Howard? So bad that the Yankee/White Sox game was postponed, and even a WNBA game (indoors).
