It's still dark here but good morning all the same. We'll have lunch with my daughter and son in law. That's enough to make it a good day. Enjoy yours.

Yesterday I wordled in two. Today I got it in six. I'm brilliant until I'm not.
I watched this video again this morning and this time I noticed something that made me immediately think of the video that Terry once showed -- a video suggesting finger exercises for guitar player to increase dexterity in ALL the fingers of the left hand. If you watch this (it's right near the beginning, so you don't have to watch long), Billy does on and off with his baby finger amazingly fast. Faster than I could imagine ever doing with a pinky.
I bet he watched Terry's video and he's been practicing up.

I had a 14.5 hour day yesterday and we still failed two routes. We're still horribly understaffed.

Every year Kennedy Guitars fields a team for Monday’s United Way Golf Classic, a fun scramble.
The aging of the regulars has decimated the team’s effectiveness to the point that this year my Chicago kid agreed to come up and get us from the tee box to within 20 yds of the green at which point the geezers will take over.
Today I will go out and swing a club for the second time since last year’s event. Won’t be pretty.

Good morning, all.
Leaving for the airport in a few minutes. Kathy and I are spending the week in Estes Park, CO. Y'all don't burn the place down while I'm away.

Those exercises really helped me but worked dramatically better done slowly to a metronome. I found I was rushing getting off the little finger note. Probably because it didn’t sound that good. The metronome really helped with that.

Up. Coffee consumed. French toast, bacon and scrambled eggs in a bit. Lawn still needs mowed, but Wordle is done. Priorities, you know. Bike ride later. Really enjoying the bike since the brakes got fixed. Allergies are still at defcon five, but medication works sorta.

Egg, biscuit and coffee consumed. Plants watered. Time to pluck strings then off to a graduation party for a friend's son.

Just back from a pleasant Sunday drive in the countryside north and east of here, passing through Scandia, Forest Lake, Hugo and other smallish towns. Before heading north, I stopped at Culver's to fill my coffee mug, and with superhuman willpower managed to resist the frozen custard flavor of the day, Strawberry Chocolate Parfait. But it wasn't easy.

While on the aforementioned drive, I got to do one of my favorite things. I was northbound on a two-lane road that has a 55 mph speed limit, cruise control set at 61, and of course before long there's some farging arzul riding my bumper in his big-ass Ford Explorer. But soon the road turned twisty, with corners marked for 45 or 40 mph. I call these turns "steer-arounds" because the Infiniti handles so well that I can almost double the posted speed without braking or experiencing any kind of drama. So I just left the cruise at 61 and watched in my mirrors as the SS Arzul listed hard to port, then to starboard, and suddenly it was no longer on my bumper. The road straightened for a spell and he caught back up to me, but then more twisties arrived and the little game started all over again. There were about six acts to this play before the dude finally stopped at a gas station. Such fun.

Sitting in the outdoors (feels like am October day) at Fireside Winery listening to the very talented Tim Smith play some older tunes (currently playing Rick Nelson's garden party).
He's very good and toured with Dolly Parton as her bass player for I believe 9 years. Brave man, he brought a 12 string to an outdoor gig.

I have a pint of vanilla chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer. I played guitar for 75 minutes out on a bench across the street beside the berm. No one bothered me. The kitchen is still in flux. My barber got carried away and cut my hair really short. I have a pint of vanilla chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer.

That box is for air mail deliveries.
