Good morning. Woke up thinking about this great songwriter, long gone. He saw me through college.
Have good days, everyone.

Good morning, y'all. I'll get a medical test this morning as part of the process for getting my driving privileges back. That's about it for plans.
A headline this morning from Fox News 10: "Fire breaks out at a Phoenix scrapyard sending smoke into the air." Yeah, fires do that sometimes.
Enjoy your day.

Thanks, Howard, but I'm not concerned. A neurologist has to submit a statement that I'm neurologically okay. I already know he will but he has to do some due diligence. If I were him, I would too.

Dismal, rainy day. At least it’s cool. Stay dry if you can.

Howard, I'm a big fan of Fogelberg, too. He doesn't get the credit he deserves.
Here's another great songwriter and performer, with a great song for a birthday:

55 degrees here this morning. I see a trip to the grocery store in my future, this morning. Music practice will be an evening affair today.

Morning. A few guys in the office out sick yesterday and I've got that pre cold scratchy throat thing going on so we'll see.
Hike planned for later today.

I would love a dismal rainy day. We had a 70% chance last night and nothing happened. I played some keyboard and could tell that my vision is improving because I could tell which line the notes were on. Not so when I played guitar previously.
Meetings today. Feels like work. As a member of the finance committee for our HOA I'm expected to be at training for the Board on budgeting and reserves, then at their meeting to discuss preliminary steps on preparing the budget. The treasurer is running the show, so unless I disagree with something, I'll probably keep quiet.
Then this afternoon is our weekly Zoom social chat, which usually runs for 2 hours. Not sure why we're still doing this, as most of us are getting out and doing things post-pandemic.

Good morning. 53F-81F sunny. Dreary day yesterday but I did get things done. Picked up a few guitars to pass on to needy students after I check them over and sold an old Kay archtop from the archive closet. $ Last night was quite cool and we had to close all the windows.

My group also continued via Zoom because it was easier for everyone.

Cool and misty.
Early morning death-defying bike ride. Dropped off the van for repair on a main commercial thoroughfare. The route home consisted of zigzagging through car dealerships, crossing said thoroughfare (at a well-marked crosswalk that is nerve-wracking nonetheless), and several hill climbs through residential neighborhoods. If it is necessary to cycle back to pick up the van, it will involve a long steep hill climb (thankful for low gears).
It seems that the new power steering pump installed in June is defective. I have been doing business with this shop for 20+ years so I trust them to make it right.
Organizing stuff to make the workshop usable whilst awaiting a call from the shop.

Thank you, Howard. I like Fogelberg's songs and my wife loves them.
Another hot day here. At 11:00 p.m. last night, it was still 80 degrees so the house did not cool down much.
I have slightly regretted selling my 16-foot aluminum boat as we are nearing decent crabbing season.

Good Day!
I feel fall in the air. For the last week or so, it has been sweat pants in the morning and an extra blanket at night.

Bill Hammond is rolling over in his grave. Whaaa? I'm a longtime Fogelberg fan, bought a LOT of his records. Being a word geek, I had a few issues with some of his lyrics but his singing and playing and writing were uniformly excellent, I thought, and I was terribly saddened when he died, and so young.

I assume that someone reading Howard's original post might be thinking that the great songwriter's name was "Long Gone."

Long Gone was, I believe, Gene Autry’s sidekick.
