Good morning.
This morning I'll attend a sad memorial service. Enough said. It'll be a beautiful day here. Enjoy yours.

A salute to all veterans. Barb’s father was a WWI veteran and her parents were married on November 11, 1925–98 years ago. Frost everywhere this morning. The yards and golf course are white. Sweatshirt weather has arrived. Coyotes have been seen prowling the backyards. Lots of little, bite-sized doggies here. A neighbor saw a large coyote heading toward her little puffball doggie yesterday morning and headed off an unpleasant event just as the coyote was closing in. All the little doggie people are concerned. I hope the coyotes get the squirrel that showed up the other day. Leave the doggies alone!

Nobody in our neighborhood leaves their little puffball doggies outside alone. Coyotes, bobcats, and the occasional lost bear. And there are no outdoor cats.
This morning there's coffee and sweets at the HOA's clubhouse. So we are up and soon will be socializing. I'm not a coffee drinker and not much for sweets for breakfast, but I will partake. Then our group of HOAs has an art and jewelry show and sale. We'll walk over and browse. Not like we need more stuff, but maybe something will grab us and it's a chance for more socializing.

Usually, people here don’t leave a small dog out either, but the neighbor got careless and went inside to pour a cup of coffee. It was 6 AM. She was inside just a few minutes, which is all it takes. I think she will be more vigilant from now on.

Good morning all. Cold this morning (around 56), but rising to the upper 70's for a pleasant day. The left eye is still recovering, but it is better today than yesterday. Hoping it'll be clearer by tomorrow as Eric will be stopping by for practice, even though we have no gigs lined up until March next year.

Good morning.
33F-43F mostly cloudy.
Up early as the plumbers are back to finish a complicated water heater install. We've been without heat or hot water overnight, no big deal just used a couple of heaters. The old water heater was installed in 1995 so 28 years is pretty good service time. The codes were different back then and that is why all the complications, getting the venting up to code.
Shop time with customers and plumbers, then lunch with Bill and and a trip to get a new mouse, this one keeps crapping out on me and I'm tired of recleaning the momentary contact switches.
Coyotes only live where there is food and they are not picky in the least.

I've got the next two days off. Well, not really. But given my 7-days-a-work-week schedule, I look at the days when I'm only doing packages as the closest I come to a day off. Don't go in 'til 9 and I only work 10 hours. So, I'm off to the Amazon. For two days.

Hello, friends. 50°F in Brooklyn at the moment, but sunny. More leaves fallen. The offspring was just picked up by a good friend and her parents for the rest of the weekend in their upstate 18th century mansion, so it will be quiet here and I will have to fill my time in other ways than in servitude to a teenager...
My father was a veteran of the US Army, achieving the rank of staff sergeant before his honorable discharge. After surviving six Nazi labor camps in Poland and Austria, he arrived in this country in 1947 and was drafted in 1949, served in the Signal Corps, and was trained as a combat photographer. Even though the Korean situation was heating up at the time, the Army never shipped him out. He spent most of his hitch at Fort Benning, in Georgia. Through a set of incredible circumstances, he landed a job at Newsweek magazine while he was still in the service, which was waiting for him when he returned to New York. He spent 31 years photographing almost everyone in the news.
Here he is, somewhere in Georgia, circa 1950. He loved this country, and once took a walk in the peanut fields with Jimmy Carter, during his campaign.

Up and at em. Pulled out our old mini tower computer this morning and hooked it up. To my surprise it fired right up, no issues despite not having been turned on for at least six years. Nita needs some old financial records that are on it. So far, so good.
Have a day, everyone.

Good morning, I didn't check the temperature this morning, but the ground was covered with frost. That's all I needed to know. For all you water ski/play enthusiasts, I'm trying to save, repair a 60 year old saucer that my wife had as a child. It's got some bad spots in the wood but is 96% solid.

Morning!
Leftover pizza for breakfast (as Charlene is at quilt something or other and the kids took off early to go up the farm). I think I like leftover pizza better than fresh. Pop it in the toaster and it comes out perfect!

When we stepped out the door to head to the art show, we met our new neighbors. Seem like nice people. But old, even older than us. They haven't moved in yet. Their old house is being shown today and they're spending the day getting bids on work to be done on the new house. We saw some nice things at the show. Didn't buy. Taking a break at home before heading to Costco. That wasn't on the agenda for today, but Mr. H wants to go. Saturday on a holiday weekend and less than two weeks before Thanksgiving. OK, why not?

The house is set up and ready to go. Are you sure you want the speaker behind the performer and mic?

I had a good day Friday and Saturday with a great movie/series - All the Light We Cannot See follows the lives of two teenagers during the height of World War II: Marie-Laure, a blind French girl and Werner Pfennig, a German boy forced to join and fight for the Nazi regime.
It's always music day - Su, M, Tu, W, Th, F, Sa and the eight day
I'm going to have some more Indian food - Tikka Chicken Masala - in a restaurant (pics soon)
The Holiday - The Remembrance Day (Armistice Day)then The Veterans Day...... it was a president (Ike) that changed it..... 1954
I had Conscientious Objector - 1968 - Viet Nam I would've come to a different war - WWII

I had a really good day. Once a month my good friend George and I have breakfast at 218. Then I go the coffee shop and make a grocery list over a cup of decaf, and then the grocery store to stock up for the week. That might not sound like much but I'm still struggling with getting up and having no one around with Kim gone and the routine I mentioned took 5 1/2 hours because I spent that much time talking to people. There is something to be said about living in a rural area. If you put your best foot forward people won't allow you to be lonely. They will turn the trip to town into the social event that you need.
