Good morning. Happy St. Patrick's Day to those with links to beautiful Ireland.
It's cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. I'm going to risk getting wet and visit our botanical garden this morning. I haven't been in quite a while and it's a good place for birds. This afternoon I'll go to a program of Bach music that my wife wants to attend.
Thoughts are with Todd and LJ.

Good morning. Overcast this morning, should clear later today. I've got some shopping to do and not much else. Yesterday's outing with the Audubon folks was interesting. We went first to Heartwood Preserve Heartwood Preserve, a natural burial cemetery and nature preserve. Interesting place but it didn't have many birds so we went to a wetlands area in back of an industrial park and had some better results. Came across a gator, a double crested cormorant, a grey catbird and a bunch more. Good stuff. Have a great day.

Good morning 23F-33F windy. Looks like we'll be having a cold spell for a while. Our usual Sunday breakfast at The Little Oven who have Corned beef and cabbage on the menu today and then shopping at HyVee. I'll take the Recording King 000 12 fret over to a buddies house to show off and then take Zaria to work. Kaiah took their car to Chicago so we are getting Zar to work for the next few days. They plan on going car shopping after Kai gets back and Zar has been saving money for over a year for this. Best wishes for Todd and LJ and anyone else on the wounded list. The Recording King and the Stella I've been working on.

Morning all. Another somewhat chilly morning, but itβs supposed to get to 75 today, today is the day to replace the weather stripping on the front door, and thatβs probably the only productive thing Iβll do all day. Unless you count a bike ride and watching the Players golf thing. But itβs all good as Iβve already had a piece of Avo toast. I know, itβs a tough job but somebody has to do it.
Everyone stay safe and as healthy as you can.

I am SO smart. I got wordle in 2. Tomorrow I may be dumb again, but today I am disgustingly unapproachable in my erudition.

have Corned beef and cabbage on the menu Coincidentally, that's what Dar fixed last night. I might have a little residual...you know...gas today. Maybe not. Maybe, though. Correlation does not equal causation.

We are big Oatmeal fans piled with stuff like blueberries, sliced apples, crasins, nuts etc. I have discovered, thanks to seeing what my Denver kid showed me that you can make a big batch, eat what you want, and put he rest in the fridge in a Tupperware container and it is just as good the next few days reheated in the microwave.
Does not seem like that big a deal but when all of a sudden during the day you get a craving for a nice bowl itβs comforting to know itβs just two minutes away.

Had oatmeal with a sliced banana this morning. Easy to make from quick oats in a minute and a half. Add milk and whatever else you want and heat for another half minute.
We have all the makings for corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Will start that after we return from church. Considering whether to make Soundhole beer bread. It's not Irish soda bread, but it sounds good.
Taking a guitar to church for sort of an audition after the service. In spite of the fact that I told the choir director long ago that I play guitar, he has never asked me to play. So I guess he really doesn't know whether I can play or am one of those people who claims to play because they can strum 3 chords. (No offense to anyone here.)

I like to drop a couple soft-boiled eggs into my oatmeal. It's a complete meal deal, and a winter mainstay.
(another option is oatmeal sprinkled with a healthy dose of cinnamon.)
Morning!

Oatmeal was my breakfast for over a decade. Old-fashioned oats were nuked for two minutes. Frozen blueberries and often bananas would be added afterwards, plus a spoon of honey. I liked it but when the doctors said to pile on the protein at breakfast it gave way to omelets with sausage on the side.

Does not seem like that big a deal but when all of a sudden during the day you get a craving for a nice bowl itβs comforting to know itβs just two minutes away. My co-worker, Draydon, was going on and on about his latest purchase -- www.oatsovernight.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=search-brand-usa&utm_term=oats%20overnight&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqdqvBhCPARIsANrmZhP-dPwJPw8UF10Mf85mw9e8k_2aw5O8-33ZG7zNuX9w_w4VrUou_XgaAkIsEALw_wcB . The thing is, they are sold with the idea that you would "drink" them from the bottle cold, sorta like a smoothie. He got me to try one ...what? sip? gulp? bite? I didn't mind the taste (obviously. I love oatmeal.). But ingesting it THAT way -- cold -- I nearly barfed.

Well, my morning has gone according to plan. I motored over to Lucky's 13, ordered the today-only Irish special and a Bloody Mary with their horseradish-fortified mix. The meal arrived -- thickly cut corned beef, a quarter-head of braised cabbage, roasted baby reds and carrots -- all done perfectly. Tasty.
As per usual, I could finish only about a third of it, but it traveled well, and will be supper tonight and lunch tomorrow.
It's how I justify eating out so often -- I get two or three meals per outing.
To be like Mike, I am now settled in to watch the Players tourney.

I passed the audition and am now playing for the choir on not just the one song, but another one on a different Sunday. Plus I'm singing a solo on the first song. This is all much easier than when I accompanied a community chorus because I don't have to haul an amp, stool, and music stand. Just me, a guitar, and a guitar stand. All good now that I'm in my 70s and am still a small woman. And there's no danger that I'll become over-committed.
