Good morning. We'll have about 60-80 with a chance of showers tonight. It should be a pleasant day. I may do a little yard work and I'll smoke a chuck roast. That's about it.
Have a good day.

Good morning. Cloudy and cool here in Florida. Not much planned for today, going to change some more strings on some more guitars. Beyond that, who knows. Have a great day.

Headed to Arnaudville for a funeral visitation. Arnaudville is a little artsy town on Bayou Teche not too far from Lafayette. When Christine was at LSU she applied for a summer program in the French Alps (in a little town called Barcelonette). She rustled up the $3000 needed with great effort. Barcelonette was home to 3 brothers Arnaud who left in the late 18th century for the New World. Each founded a town, one in Mexico, one in Argentina and one in Louisiana, ergo, Arnaudville. There was a mandatory meeting for those accepted, agenda was hush-hush. At the meeting they were introduced to a descendant of Monsieur Arnaud who presented a check to pay the complete fare for all who were accepted. After the viewing, we have reservations at The Little Big Cup, a unique Arnaudville eatery and site of one of our first dates, back when we were meeting midway between Baton Rouge and the rice farm where Wendy was living. thelittlebigcup.com/

Good morning.
16F-32F sunny
Saturday Shop and then we will do our grocery shopping at HyVee. Heavy snow predicted for tomorrow so I we'll shop today and may give breakfast out a pass tomorrow also.
Nice lunch with the crew yesterday. Terry had to pass due to weather but other than that a good time was had by all.

Is that Gumbo? I’ve never had gumbo. Jimmy Buffet has a song about Gumbo. I’d like to find some gumbo.
Up and at em. Is Saturday, which means the street fair is on at the College of the Desert. They have a nice farmers market their, and a bunch of local baked goods, and one of the food trucks makes a killer breakfast burrito.
Bike ride later.

Nice lunch with the crew yesterday. Terry had to pass due to weather but other than that a good time was had by all. It was nice, for sure, I think there were 11 of us. Many walleye tacos were consumed, plus walleye fish 'n' chips, with malt vinegar, of course. Mr. Letson, ever the outlier, went with a pizza, and seemed pleased with it.

Good morning from stormy Brooklyn. It's raining like nobody's biz today—the forecast is calling for 2.5 to 3.5 inches by nightfall. I am glad we live on a hill, 137' above (current) sea level. Coming to the Soundhole late this morning—was busy making breakfast for my girls. Hoping for a semi-lazy day, with a dinner invitation to friends' home in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn this evening. Remember, it's always good to Keep your powder dry and your body hydrated.
On edit: What's the difference between gumbo and étouffée?

Gumbo is a stew. Etouffee, I learned only recently, means "smothered."

A chilly morning, all that snow from Friday, 4-5 inches, is keeping the temperature down. I moved a little bit of snow yesterday, but it was really too wet for the snowblower and it was too heavy to shovel, a real "heart attack" snow.
Todd should make it to Virginia Gay today!

Gumbo is a stew. Etouffee, I learned only recently, means "smothered." Correct. After our brunch at The Little Big Cup we walked across the street to the town's one grocery and were amazed to find 12 oz packs of Louisiana (not Chinese) crawfish tails for 8.98. about half market price. Bought some. Wendy's wonderful crawfish etoufee is in my future...

Well, the first foot of snow has landed and it is determinedly working on the second. Lovely to look at in the woods.

Yes, buffet. The gumbo, hog cracklins, pork stew, frittata, praline chicken & waffles were some of the standouts. All excellent. At 18.99 for a non-disgusting (as most all-you-can-eat joints are) all-you-can-eat brunch it was outstanding.

I've been to a couple where the first bite was all I cared to eat.
