Greetings,
I'm a new member. Not to say that I am new.
I'm an old guitar player. Not that I play old guitars.
Doc Froon sent me this information.
He said other old guitar players might lurk here. Lurking commencing.

Keith, Welcome to the party. I do not recollect receiving the initiation bottle of Jamesons. You can keep posting for a week, but if the bottle doesn't arrive by May 18 (my birthday) you will not be allowed to post anymore.
Don't believe most of the stuff on this board, especially stuff from Cosmic Wonder, kenlarsson, t-bob, Dub, coachdoc, Cornflake, docfroon, paleo, dradtke, factorychef, Fiddlerina, theevan, PaulKay, brucemacneill, Cribbs, Hobson, concertinagirl, Dave Poor, Millring, Marshall, Russell Letson, epaul, billhammond, majorminor, TKennedy, drlj, Shannon, Marty, John B, aquaduct, howard lee, theevan, james, and epaul. (epaul is listed twice because he is especially unbelievable).

Welcome aboard, a few things to remember.
We only talk about guitars every once in a great while.
If it hasn't got a sunburst Marshall doesn't want to talk about it, but might offer to get his spray can and give it one.
Believe nothing LJ says, or epaul to a lesser degree.
Hammond is an Editor and WILL correct you every chance he gets.
Howard is now happily retired and it doesn't matter what he was.
You may refer to Millring as That Damn Potter. I do. Potter as in clay, not Harry.
Terry makes guitars, damn good ones.
Doc Shannon sounds like Forest Gump and is probably the nicest person you'll ever meet.
Factorychef is a damn fine cook but go easy on his brownies if you know what's good for you.
I'd talk more but DaWife aka Me Darling Wife wants dinner and we all know all happy men have happy wives, or they are single.

Way back before I ever knew there was anything like internet forums and such, I read about bone saddles in AG Magazine, so I went online, a new experience for me, to see what I could find out about them. I found myself in the middle of a spirited discussion on exotic saddle materials. Some fellow was extolling at length the supreme sonic virtues of fossilized walrus tusk when these other two fellows began suggesting other exotic materials that perhaps might suit his ear even better. After coming up with a lengthy list of such sonically supreme saddle materials the fellow should try, they settled on recommending fossilized cow patties, ideally from Texas steers, as the very best of all.
Oh, they had a hoot and the golden-eared fellow they were having a good time with left in an uppity huff)
The two fellows? Rockerbob and Allan Houston (of Seagull fame). I loved it. I jumped in the thread only to discover it was a year old, but, I was in.

OMG, Rocker Bob. Hey Keith, how’s it? We are all a lot older. Probably no wiser, but that doesn’t stop us from being opinionated.

OMG, Rocker Bob. Hey Keith, how’s it? We are all a lot older. Probably no wiser, but that doesn’t stop us from being opinionated. Mike I disappeared from music for about a decade following severe hearing loss to Meniere's disease. I decided to get used to music through the damned hearing aids. I'm recording a little and playing regularly at nursing/assisted living facilities, pro bono. The biggest surprise is I'm still alive. My collaborator of 25+ years decided he couldn't stand me anymore and disappeared from my life at the beginning of 2021. Well, first he laughed at me in a zoom chat, hung-up while still laughing. I've reached out twice. Once right after the event and almost a year later when my father died. He did not acknowledge my father's passing. That cemented it for me. The Walker part of Lewis & Walker has abandoned our music and our friendship. No reason other than I must be really funny. I still play expensive guitars. Some things never change.

I might not be the only Rockerbob, but I am the only rockerbob.com My song "George" is, in my opinion, the best thing I ever wrote/recorded.

Come to my house and I'll pour us both a glass. My memory is poor, but I hope to remember some of the fun of 20 years ago. I do remember a few names. Hopefully more memories will float to the surface.

How can we trust anyone who can spell "felicitations"? Without spell check and I know what it means. It's archaic, but I like archaic. But how did I know how to spell "archaic?" I'm an autodidact. Things are a bit different here than in many homes. Somehow we seem to have collected a little less than 5000 books in the house. It is no secret that reading increases your vocabulary. My son is also the grammar police. One of his 5 degrees is in English Magna Cum Laude. My son still live here and runs his publishing company from my house. Polymathpress.com - Buy his books. I invested in his company. They are also very good books. I don't ever watch TV. I don't' have one in any of the rooms I frequent. In summary, no. You can't trust anyone who knows felicitations except perhaps me.
