I know that Martin may not cover the bridge replacement. But I did have them pay to reglue my HD35 bridge when it separated from humidity back in the 90’s. That isn’t the same as replacing, but it may not be all that clear that humidity was the cause. I any event a Martin authorized repair will do a good job on it whether Martin pays for it or not. Pretty much the same repair. Take off the old bridge and glue one back on. Maybe replace the saddle also. Factory replacement bridges tend to be slightly oversized to help cover old witness lines. I contacted the authorized Martin repair center here in Phoenix ( Milano Music ). They estimate the cost to replace the bridge at $185. Quite reasonable I thought. So I’m not worried if it isn’t covered by warranty.

Premade bridges are fairly cheap so most of that is labor.

Simon is now in full Summer mode. He ain't coming inside unless it's raining to a certain extent or he wants a bite of food and a drink of water. Then right back outside until dinner time.

Back from the orthodontist with fatter wires. Going on 21 months with braces on my lower teeth and longer than that with an aligner on the uppers. Having a tough time remembering why I talked myself into going through all this after having a lower tooth pulled. Supposed to be closing the gap and straightening everything. I'm starting to think I may not live long enough to be done and be able to eat popcorn, tortilla chips, peanut butter, ribs, and corn on the cob again.
When I got home, Mr. H was cleaning the inside of the pickup. Got it washed yesterday. Will be ready to take it to Carmax and see what they offer sometime soon.

"I was raised Baptist and Baptists don't drink (in front of each other)." Q: Why shouldn't you go fishing with a Mormon? A: He'll drink all your beer. That's why if you take one Mormon you need to take a second one.

Yes, but because the truck is in excellent condition inside and out, we think that we're better off taking it there. If we get an online bid, it's a firm offer, not negotiable.

They could probably use one of those in Baltimore right about now.

Do any of the Minnesota crew know what's going on on I94, between Roger's and Monticello. Maps shows the north bound lanes closed.
I'll be going through there Tomorrow.

Is that Martin a through saddle? I had a OM28VR that was. Might consider a drop in if the bridge is replaced. Makes it a lot easier to fine tune the setup, at least for me.
Marty, I found that if making a copy of a damaged bridge to replace I could make an exact template of the bridge and then use the template Robo Sander instead of a template router for final shaping. Makes it exactly 1/32” larger.

I agree with going with a drop-in saddle, much better in the long run. You told me about that a couple years ago, really good idea. I've just never got around to buying a Robo Sander.

17 1/2 hours in a car, most of it driving. Seven states counting the state we started in and the one we're in now.
Long day.

They were construction workers who were fixing potholes on the roadway. All from Latin America.

Where are you, John B? I swore off that kind of driving years ago. Eight hours a day is my maximum and I try to keep it to less.

A few days exploring the area, based here, then we're driving up to Acadia National Park where I intend to waste a lot of pixels taking poorly-framed, out-of-focus pictures. I will also be wasting a little film.
