Participating (placing flags) this morning in the "Field of Flags" event at Milwaukee's War Memorial. The event started on Monday and the goal is the placement of 27,316 flags to remember and honor the exact number of Wisconsin service members killed in action from the Civil War through present day. The final flags will be placed this morning and the event concludes with a flyover. The flags will remain until May 30.
Have a safe weekend, everyone.

Good morning from Brooklyn, USA. Weather forecast says 87° today around here. I'm glad we finally had that new a/c installed in the living room.
Not much else to report; a couple of brief errands, more guitar practice for Sunday's gathering out on Long Island. Her Grace and I have been watching a mini-series she found called "The Durrells in Corfu," about the family of Lawrence Durrell living on the island of Corfu in the 1930s before the outbreak of WWII. Very heartwarming, with some comical as well as serious moments. Beautiful ensemble cast. Highly recommended.
Have a wonderful day, and stay hydrated.

Light rain in Little Falls, but good hot coffee.
Traffic throuand around Mpls wasn't bad yesterday, some slight slowdowns but no stopping.
I made the mistake of going from 94 to 10 at Clearlake, which took me through St Cloud. Lots of stopping there, St Cloud was like driving through a war zone.
Today I'll be visiting a small, country cemetery, the final resting place of my parents, grandparents and many friends and relatives.

Off to hopefully view some whales. Or hopefully, we will view some whales, although I assume the sight of them will make me hopeful. Loading up on the Dramamine, ginger chews and wrist bands that probably won't do a thing.

Good luck with that. I have never been seasick—before the kid was born we took the 90-minute ferry trip to Block Island to visit friends there, and let me tell you, Mister, it was rough seas. Almost every passenger on that ferry was losing their lunch, except yours truly. My pregnant wife was really sick, and I spent most of that voyage fetching fresh seasick bags for her. Happily, the trip back to New London a few days later saw sunny, calm conditions with a very flat sea.

Good morning. Today I'll have lunch with my older daughter. She's the one who's seven-months pregnant. It'll be just the two of us, which will be novel.
Yesterday I visited a used-book store that's about three miles from our house. It's been there for thirty years but I'd never been there before. I found a few gems.
Have a good day.

Today is my stepdaughter’s last day of her visit with us. We went site seeing at Lake Pleasant yesterday, followed by lunch in Scorpion Bay.
Today is a spa day to get some sun before heading back tomorrow. She’s had fantastic weather this trip.

Good morning. I've never been seasick, but I did spend a summer on Block Island. Slept in a bit this morning. Went on a mountain bike ride late yesterday afternoon at Inglis Island wildlife preserve. Nice track though the woods and along the cross Florida canal which has been envisioned for a number of years but has yet to completed. The part where I was has been finished. Saw lot's of deer and a few fishermen. Not much on the agenda today so we'll see how the day plays out. Have good ones.

Nice work there, Man-of-Consonant-Sorrow!
Doing two funeral services today-a private one for the immediate family, then one for the larger group. It's been a rough go since Kevin's death last Friday.
Afterwards, Wendy and I will pack up and head out to the camp for an overnight to catch our breath.
Life is precious. I hate how much time I have wasted and how much I still waste.

Good morning.
51F-72F Rain.
It's raining and a storm just pasted through. Simon is out under his bush next to the front porch with no intention of coming in where it's dry.
I have a INR this morning then shop time for a while.
Nice lunch with Terry and Glenn yesterday. Then we came back to my place where they watched me put some K&Ks in Glenn's Walker Wise River guitar. I showed off some of my little tricks and jigs for getting the job done right.
Everyone have a good weekend, Summer is here, just ask Simon.

This morning I am editing an article about canine massage therapists who come to your house and give your dog an hourlong massage for $70 plus tax (and tip, presumably), while teaching owners how to do it themselves. Especially valuable for older pooches, they say.

Those darn dogs get off cheap. Last in-house massage I had cost me $400.

Morning!
Light beautiful rain. .5" yesterday and it looks like it will be at least another .5" today. Maybe .7" Perfect! And tomorrow is calling for sunshine! Grow garden, grow!
Meanwhile, I think I will take advantage of the rainy morning and head over to Darcy's Cafe for pancakes.

Well of course they say that.
What I say is that a bunch of storms rolled through very early this morning, several schools around here have late starts because of the the weather.

It was a great visit with Marty and Glenn. First in person with those two gems since our major health issues last fall. Felt good.
Marty’s K&K jig is ingenious and Glenn’s beard is impressive.
Rain and wind here, off to the greenhouse to get flowers for the cemetery and some tomato plants.

Hope everyone stays safe weather wise, not a whole lot doing here. I need to take Anita’s new plug in Rav 4 in for gas, the first fill up since we bought it in January. Although, to be fair, we we gone for two months. Still, we’re getting pretty good mileage out of the thing. Lunch with a old fart today. Got the trailer put away yesterday. Overcast with light occasional showers today. Maybe shrimp tacos for dinner tonight. That’s all I got.

A pleasant almost-summer day. In the 60s this morning, high of 84, cooling overnight.
Back from a brief trip to Hocking Hills in southern Ohio. Lots of twisty roads. Stayed in an Airbnb cabin on top of a ridge, short hikes to waterfalls (with lots of other people) and a pleasant bike ride along an old railroad, with a river on one side and rock cliffs on the other.
Yard work today and prepping to plant my 0.0004-acre vegetable patch. I have been remiss in that I didn't get sunflower and pole bean plants started indoors.

Plans to take the truck to Carmax today were derailed. One of Mr. H's hearing aids died, so we're off to Costco to see if it can be repaired. If not, he'll make an appointment to get tested for new ones. As long as we're there, we'll have to buy some needed and unneeded products.
Also, son-in-law's heart bypass surgery just yesterday got rescheduled from 8:30 AM today to 1:00 PM. These things happen, but more stress for the family.
