Up and at ‘em. Orioles, hummingbirds, deer, ducks, and a few other creatures running around in the backyard. We dodged the storm last night and only got a little rain. It looks nice out there, so let’s enjoy it.

Good morning. We'll have 60s-80s and clear skies.
It's been quiet around here. Maybe we need an ongoing political thread. It would give the moderators something to do.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning! We're off to Concord, MA, today. Author stuff (Alcott, Thoreau). Maybe even some "shot heard 'round the world" stuff.

Good morning. Today is the centennial of my father's birth. Here he is with his grandmother circa 1930.
Have a lovely holiday weekend, everyone.

Good morning.
46F-75F sunny.
Saturday Shop and I will have people coming by. One drove down all the way from Frostbite Falls.
I think DaWife wants to go to Sam's Club this afternoon. I took her out to a very nice dinner last night so it will be Sam's Club hot dogs on site for lunch. They have really good hot dogs.
Making food order arrangements for DaWife's retirement party at the Little Oven. I have to think about vegetarian and gluten free options from all the pizza and pasta platers. They have a salad choice but I want to give Melva and Kaiah more choices than that. The room is free as long as I order a certain amount of food.
Knowing I'm NOT going to be able to make this a real surprise party I told Cheri that I made dinner reservations on her last day and she can't work late, as she tends to do. 5:15 and she is DONE no if's or and's about it or I will pull the plug on her computer. The Bank can't complain because she don't work there anymore. But once we pull up and park at the Little Oven I'm really going to get some strange looks.

Over the next few days the weather will be shifting from not all that bad to hot. We'll be shifting from getting up at 6:30 to 6:00 to get our walks done.
Son-in-laws heart surgery yesterday seems to have gone well. Only a single bypass done by robot instead of triple. Some mention of stents, which I think will be placed later. Getting our information second hand and not all that clear.

Morning all. Did miserable in both Wordle and connections today. I think my brain might be on hiatus. Trying to sell my canoe today. Got a guy coming to look at it around ten. We will see if he shows. I’m selling some unused stuff to raise funds for a new Ebike. I’m old and tired of lifting a 45 lb bike into the back of the truck to go camping or down to the desert. Carbon fiber is light but stupid spendy, thus the need to raise some coin. Plus I just have too much crap. If I can sell some bikes, the canoe, and the rowing machine, I might be able to actuall walk through the garage.

Just turned sunny after overnight thunderstorms.
Dawn is out gardening. She just discovered the electrical line to the garage goes through a flower bed and is only a couple of inches below the ground surface. This line was apparently installed circa 1990 by the former owners' brother-in-law, who we were told was an electrician. I think not. This certainly doesn't meet code and is a hazard that will need correction. (There are more stories of the former owners' antics but I won't bore you with them).
As soon as Dawn takes a break I will resume attempts to bring greenery to bare ground.
Howard - great photo of your father. He was born one day before my father.

Nice day here. Got a six star SUDUCO this morning, a rare occurrence for me. Playing golf with a friend this afternoon. Got a bridge on one of the new guitars. Here’s a shot just before it went on. Hide naturally. ![](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53745937659_e108a14ff1_z.jpg)

Off to the farm again to pick more asparagus (every three days until done) ((this fall, I'm going to move that damn asparagus to a bed here in town))

A perfect late spring day here, and with my errands run, I'll be rewarding myself with a late lunch at Vino in the Valley, an hour's drive east in Sconnie, nestled in the hills of the Rush River Valley, dining with a roof but no walls, excellent wine list, Eye-talian food, live music, free tractor-pulled hay wagon rides, beautiful scenery. ![]()

I also tend to hide naturally, especially these days.

The entree of choice was grilled jumbo shrimp over linguine, with red bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, onions, grape tomatoes and a butter/white wine sauce, topped with grated parmesan. Not too shabby.
