Good morning. Today is a rest and recovery day after yesterday's long bike ride. This afternoon we're going to put one of the new kayaks in the pool for kayak practice before we take them out on the local waterways. Have a great day folks.

Time for some more coffee. I just emptied, cleaned and refilled my rock tumbler. The tumbler has been doing a coarse (80) grit grind, for a week, on a load of agates. It's back running now with a medium (220) grit abrasive. In a week I'll switch to a fine polish grit. So far things are looking good.
Music Practice this afternoon.

Got a client this morning and an errand this afternoon before nap time. In between maybe I'll get some work done.

Three days of school left. It's warm out there today, one of nature's way of prepping for some severe thunderstorms tonight.

Warm & humid here. Rain is possible but the last few storms have missed us so who knows? It should hit 86-87 today. We made it to 90 yesterday. Feels like summer.

I heard two alarming things on the radio this morning:
Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and Papas has turned 80.
Phoenix is expecting record-setting temps on Thursday, like 114 degrees. I cannot even imagine that.

The world is upside down(which, since there is no up or down in space, really doesn’t matter but it sounds good, you know?) and nothing is as it once was! All the leaves are brown! Thank God we are all still young and hip.

Thank God we are all still young and hip. Emphasis on hip. Some of us are already on our third one.

Good morning, all!
Looks like it will rain this morning, but I'm safe and dry inside. Everything here is steady as she goes.

Morning!
Light morning rain, sun for this afternoon. And stuff grows, grows, grows.

"Thank God we are all still young and hip."
I was always secure about being hip until recently. For several days I've been streaming radio CJPX in Montreal while I work on the computer. Part of the appeal is listening to the announcers speak French, which I don't understand, except when they mention the city they're broadcasting from ("Mow-ray-all"). I like the music they play. I realized after a while that much of it could be classified as easy-listening music. Lots of strings and pretty melodies. Am I turning into my parents?

Art Reflects Mind
And so I keep making these little music pieces, hitching my breath, posturing arms/fingers, and concentration to shape the thoughts/reflections. As time passes, I continue to see myself reflected back in these small pieces, which is to say that they are more straight, upright, sturdy, and striking—but still have a lot of room for improvement.

I never understood why anyone wrote a haiku. Different tastes, I guess.
