Good morning. Coffee on the way. No major plans today, which suits me fine.
Have a fine day, folks.

Good morning. I'm up early ,which is normal when I'm at the cabin. Coffee is brewed and I'm enjoying it as the morning sun is reflecting off the waves on the lake and reflecting on the ceiling of the cabin. Mesmerizing.
I got all my cabin chores done yesterday except the mowing of the south lawn, that'll get done this morning.
Yesterday while mowing my driveway which is long and runs through a hardwood forest, there were 4 deer standing about 50 feet off the road watching me, unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. They were all adults, didn't see any fawns.

Good morning. Today's agenda includes a haircut and some odds and ends. It'll be hot.
PBS is in pledge mode. Last night they broadcast a Simon & Garfunkel concert from 1981 (I think). My wife and I both got drawn into it. Towards the end they did "Old Friends." When they sang, "How terribly strange to be 70," my wife and I both snickered.
Have a good day.

Good morning.
55F-78F sunny.
Nice sunny day with little wind. I may have to go out but would rather stay in the shop until nap time.

Good morning, all.
Nice weather today, if a bit hot.
Plans include clinic, then meeting some old friends for pizza at supper.

We survived yesterday's heat and will survive more of the same today as we have no plans to leave the house except for our walk. Yesterday it was 110F on our way home from lunch with an old friend and a stop at Lee Lee International Market for frozen seafood, produce, and lots of sauces. Yes, we took a cooler. This morning's low was 78F. Looks like a good day to putter around the house and play some guitar.

Cloudy, breezy and a bit chilly. Gotta cut the sparse grass (can't really call it a lawn) and then work on the platform bed project, cutting up pricy plywood -- 3/4" paint grade plywood is $65/sheet.

Ultimate Frisbee
Going to a tournament in Rockford, IL. My HS aged grand-niece and family are up from Atlanta for an invitational tournament. Never seen an actual game.

One of my former coworkers was on the US women's national team, and competed internationally. Accountants do interesting things sometimes.

Good morning. Got up early and went mountain biking at my favorite trail, Fickett Hammock. Did a bit over 10 miles. Good stuff. On the way home I passed by another preserve, Annutteliga Hammock, got a wild hair up my butt and decided to check it out. Not my best decision.....Once I got out on the trail it turned out to be about 80 percent sugar sand which the mountain bike can handle but it is very strenuous to ride through. Basically, it sucks. So, no more trips to that trail. We've got the tree folks coming by this afternoon to do some hurricane season tree trimming. Claire is watching the French Open. I'm going to vegitate for a while and then we'll see..... Have a great day.

Work is done and it is time to go to the beach. We will be staying with eldest son, DIL, grandson and dogs. They are all good company.

Feeling of accomplishment: I took care of three errands, got myself a haircut, picked up a couple of treats for Her Grace when she returns from her academic travails, and now I can sit out on the balcony and read without guilt.
Currently reading this film director's autobiography:
He had a crazy interesting life. He started out as a crime reporter on a New York newspaper (The Graphic, for which he dropped out of HS) and, among other things, stormed the beach at Normandy as a corporal in The Big Red One (and directed a film of the same name years later).

77, sunny, light NW breeze. Perfect summer day verified by the massive Friday influx of out of towners here to pursue the most dangerous activity known to man. Trying to have fun. Glad I am retired and not on call.
Breakfast with an old surgical colleague followed by a cathartic trip to the dump with a full trailer.
Biked over to the body shop to pick up my Subaru after the final repairs from hitting the barstool on 694. Good job but$$$.

Yes because I chose the body shop over their cheaper alternative. I’m OK with it, they did a great job.

Stopped off this afternoon for fish and chips at Stout's Pub, and the audio system was playing pop music from the '60s and '70s, including this Jethro Tull classic, whose opening lyrics make a perfect backdrop to pleasant dining:
Sitting on a park bench Eying little girls with bad intent Snot is running down his nose Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes Hey, Aqualung Drying in the cold sun Watching as the frilly panties run

I was a die-hard fan of Jethro Tull for many years, and attended most of their concerts here from 1968 through the mid-1980s. Ian Anderson's acoustic guitar playing always mesmerized me; he played small guitars, usually 0-sized, and just crushed it. This is one of many favorites, a bit dark but not as greasy as "Aqualung."
