Good morning. It won't be as hot today as it was the last few days but it'll be hot enough. I'll take a walk while it's still pleasant and then do a little weeding.
Older daughter sent photos of the ultrasound of our grandson-to-be. Very cool. There are about seven weeks to go.
Enjoy your day.

I've got an interesting test in progress. Several years ago a friend gave me a rock tumbler that had been abused. It had been left with water in it, sealed, for years. The water had evaporated, creating a vacuum inside, causing the top and bottom to collapse inward.
I used a lot of heat and pressure on the tumbler (rubber) forcing it back into shape. I got it back in a stable, usable shape.
I checked out the motor and rollers, oiled it, and last week, loaded it with rock and turned it on. Later I noticed the motor seemed really hot. I Unplugged it.
More checking, more oil and tried running the motor with no load. Still seemed very hot.
Reading about these motor I learned that they often run above 100 degrees C. Seeing warnings about not touching them.
I decided to go for broke. Set it on a clean open spot on my shop floor, concrete, so nothing to burn and turned it on. I checked it this morning, it's been running for 14 hrs and it's still working. Hot but working. Maybe I lucked out.

Looks like rain today. We could use a little. Dr appt coming up Thursday to determine the fate of the boot. I am walking with just a cane now. Not sure how that’ll change once the boot is gone. The foot still has swelling and will for up to a year so that enters into things. I have more scars than a professional knife fighter but I don’t care about those. They are badges of a struggle well fought. I look forward to a shoe on my left foot even if it has to be loose. I spent some time working on alt dominant chords last night. 7#9, 7b9, 7b5b9, 7#5#9, with a few m9s & M9s tossed in for good measure. Extrie cool, as Grier might say. That’s it for me. Now it’s breakfast time.

Good morning.
55F-75F sunny.
Saturday shop and then I don't know if DaWife has anything planned.
EDIT: I knew there was something planned but could not remember what. We will probably go get our new eye glasses today.

Out of boredom, I connected all the suture holes on my ankle using a blue Magic Marker and, when I was finished, I had a picture of the Muppet’s Cookie Monster! Is that appropriate or what?

I still have my original copy of that album. It must be more than 50 years old by now. It may even be autographed, I used to see Redbone at Chicago’s Quiet Knight in this days. He was still dressing as a railroad brakeman a la Jimmie Rodgers back then.

Obviously, ole Leon had access to some of the best session musicians of the day.

I saw Redbone at the Quiet Knight. He always pretended to be very old but he was only 69 when he died in 2019. His shows were always fun. The Quiet Knight was a cool place.

I remember being really close when Kottke was there once.

I remember being really close when Kottke was there once. I always sat by the stage too. You must have been at the next table. I remember my eyes being about four feet from Earl Scruggs’ hand when the Revue played. Harding was a remarkable club owner. He’d book people he wanted to hear even if they weren’t a huge draw. I remember Redbone’s first gig or two didn’t come close to filling the place. To book Redbone, Harding had to call a pool hall in Toronto and leave a message. Leon would get the message the next time he was at the pool hall. The time varied. On edit: Revue Review

Redbone had the good fortune to sign with Warner-Reprise, which had some of the smartest producers and A&R people around and the habit of putting together bunches of amazing studio players--who often wound up with solo careers.

In order to share the paper's comments with the part of their fan base without a S-T subscription, Gary and Andy would stand on stage and act out the Review, while Earl sat near them, enthralled.

TKennedy's local paper, the Alexandria Echo Press, runs a feature of what they consider the best reader-submitted photo of the week. This one is from Lake Carlos.
