Happy longest day of the year. Now our daily dose of sunshine and heat will begin shrinking.
My day will be busy. We will host a meeting of neighbors and a representative from the water utility to discuss what changes and repairs to the neighborhood water system are needed to avoid having our irrigation cut off. Views differ and it might get testy.
Enjoy your day.

It's 68 degrees with a light rain falling. The doors in the house are all open.
Will make a trip to Cedar Rapids later this morning, after I empty my big rock tumbler.
Happy solstice

Good morning. Claire and I will be looking into switching cell phone providers later today. Outside of that not much is planned. Have a great day.

Good morning
58F-76F cloudy.
A errand to run this morning and some shop time after that. Been working on a little Stella that I've done a "Relic" finish on to make it look well abused. Saddle slot cut today on the new bridge that I've made look old and I think I'll put unmatched bridge pins in it.

My tomatoes are a couple weeks away, but the cherries are ripe!
Headed for the hottest day of the year, 90f. I was going to mow the lawn, but it is already too warm.
Some court filings and lease drafting and I will be done with office work.

Hello, all.
A busy clinic day after being closed for Juneteenth yesterday.
I spent yesterday driving to Atlanta to visit with my biological father. It is only the third time I have seen him face-to-face, and the first time in over 5 years. It was a very good visit. He is 94 years old and his brain is healthy, but his heart is not, so I don't know how many more opportunities there will be. As it always is when I see him, it was an emotionally tiring day. His family still doesn't know about me.
I'll get to see my biological mother this weekend, although it was not planned. Her sister died this past Sunday, and I'm going up to the funeral. Her sister is the reason I was able to find my biological parents at all, with a big dose of help from 23andMe. Other than the occasion, this will be a less stressful visit. Her whole family knows about me, and I have met pretty much all of them already.

We're having our first monsoon rain of the year. Woo hoo! Unfortunately we also have lightning and things are very dry. Oh oh.

I just read that Donald Sutherland has died. He was 88.
One of the best.

EVERYONE'S DYIN' FER KRIPESAKES!
It is a part of life but still sad to see some of our heroes go off into the great beyond. Kind of puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

A classmate of mine died unexpectedly this week. As I'm one of the younger ones in our class, I'm guessing she was 55.

Sorry to see this. Too young to die these days.
