We tried an old place out in Woodbury for breakfast, sadly not very good.
I had biscuits & sausage gravy and was very let down, edible but only passible.
I can make better at home, much better. The biscuits were dry and flavorless, they'd been better off using canned Pillsbury. The gravy was made with too little fat, sausage and therefore also not enough salt/pepper, and the roux not allowed to cook long enough to get the flour taste out. I promised DaWife I would pick up biscuits and sausage gravy fixins. Which means I'm buying some lard to make biscuits and for the roux if the sausage is too lean. Always use whole milk or half/half for rich creamy gravy.
This ain't health or diet food, it's comfort food.

New recipe is perfect and we all like the result! More like bread, less like cake.
THAT looks amazing and is probably even more so with lots of butter.

Thanks, Marty. It is quite tasty, plain or buttered. We are relieved to have solved this breakfast dilemma, too.
