I'm guessing that like Minnesota couples in wintertime, there are occasional moments of disagreement in your households about thermostat settings in summer.
My house's interior temp reached 80 today for the first time this year, and because we still have a fair amount of humidity, it was getting a bit uncomfortable, so I broke down and switched on the A/C.
What do you folks set your 'stat at?

80 in the summer and 70 in the winter. We do have some ceiling fans. Mr. H is the one in our house who tends to get cold.

I think there was a newspaper article about this and the most common thermostat setting in summer was 78°. I confess that ours is set a little lower – – 75 I think – – because I was having trouble sleeping when the thermostat was set higher.

I'll put up with a warm room in the Summer if it's not humid. But if it's really humid the AC goes on set at 74 until things cool down and dry out then it gets set to 76.
Winter time the house is 65 and if you're cold wear a sweater or cover up with a lap blanket, we have lots of them.

We cool the house to 80 in the summer and generally around 76 in the winter. Setting the house to 80 depends on the humidity. If it gets uncharacteristically humid, we would set it down to 79.

Maybe it's just a North Dakota thing, but we usually keep the AC set at 62 in the summer. Usually, it's not needed.

I've been keeping my temp set at 79 or 80. Sometimes it would be nice to have it a little cooler. My reason for the higher temp is, it's easier on me when I go out and bike or especially surviving those outside summer gigs.

Depends on the house, thermostat, and its location.
Currently we do 76 summer, 71 winter. Even in summer our combined gas and electric has never exceeded $200. 2177 sq ft, 9 & 10' ceilings.
