Good morning. It'll be hot here. I'll take a walk while it's still fairly pleasant.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning.
63F-78F cloudy
Fairly heavy rain early this morning when I got up to let 2 wet, spikey furred, grumpy cats in. It's so wet out now that it will probably get quite humid as the day progresses so I think kicking the AC on low is in order.
Had dinner at the neighbors last night. Shawn made succulent slices of grilled pork over grilled asparagus, potatoes, apples and onion. Absolutely fabulous dish. I'm not big on asparagus, I ate every bite and would have begged for more had the portions been smaller but they were huge. I served up G & Ts.
Doc visit yesterday and he is happy with my INR and H1C, but wants me to see my Cardiologist before I go traveling for the Summer.
Hopefully just shop time today.

When we got home yesterday, Nita went out to the garden to water and picked two huge bowls of raspberries and another of blueberries, so itβs waffles for breakfast this morning. After that we will head down to the Salem Kaiser clinic, she for a mammogram and me for my INR. While we were camping the guy came and fixed our in ground sprinkler system so we can use it again, this is the first in ground system Iβve ever had and it seems to need constant tending to, which I am not enjoying.

Rain overnight, rain this morning, supposed to stop for a while around 1:00 pm.
That's when I'll go to the cabin.the family, and granddaughters boyfriend, will arrive later and we'll all meet at the Pizza Place.
This is really a girl's, meaning my daughter and her old lake friends, get together. My daughter and her best "lake friend, both skied Profesionally, and they put on a clinic for young girls coming up in the ski club learning to swivel ski.
A swivel ski is a water ski with a binding that is free to rotate 360 degrees. They do 180, 360 and 720 degree turns while getting pulled behind a boat in all kinds of water conditions.
The ski club, the Hartwick Huskys, have won several Division 2, show ski, national Championships.

I agree. It should. Mine is not.

I was just thinking maybe the garden could use a little water. I held off to see what the evening would bring. And the evening brought an inch of nice, slow, wonderful rain. The entire eastern half of North Dakota and a huge chunk of NW Minnesota got the same nice rain... just about the time they were thinking maybe a shot of rain would be nice.
For NW Minnesota and all of North Dakota, this year continues to be weather perfect. Oh, and that includes a huge fertile chunk of Canada just to the north of us. Western Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan (home of the chicken) is a really big chunk of fertile ground.

The ornamental cherry in front of our building suffered damage in the thunderstorm the other nightβa large bough cracked off and was hanging down over parked cars. In New York, the curbside trees are the property of the City, and if you go messing with them, you can incur a stiff fine. Unless... you happen to be a Certified Citizen Pruner. I kid you not. You can take a course and acquire certification. Lo and behold, the young mom who lives next door to us happens to be a CCP. She was out there earlier this morning with her pruning saw and my wife, who borrowed one of my saws so they could cut the downed branches down. The tree looks a lot more sparse now, sadly. Such is life.

First day of the storage garage sale went well. About 50% of the inventory went. One more day.

"Kinky Friedman, Musician and Humorist Who Slew Sacred Cows, Dies at 79. He and his band, the Texas Jewboys, won acclaim for their satirical takes on American culture. He later wrote detective novels and ran for governor of Texas."
RIP. His songs were all around when I was in high school. He wasn't out of the cookie cutter.

Another one bites the dust. He also ran an unsuccessful campaign for the governorship in Texas. Happy trails, Kinky.
