Some memories have been popping up on my phone this past week, reminding me that a year ago Erin and I were visiting NYC. Coincidentally, I'm wearing a Coney Island souvenir t-shirt today, so I thought I'd share some pics and a little video of what it's like riding the Wonder Wheel. Thanks again, howard lee, for helping us get off the island of Manhattan on our visit.
We had a great finale to the storage garage sale. The day was pretty slow but just as we were closing a lady came by with her sister and mother and went nuts buying stuff so we finished strong.j
“To be Irish is to know that in the end the world will break your heart.”
I know a guy who can bend spoons using only mental power. Oh, and a pair of pliers. He was going to turn it into a magic act. I suggested to him that most audiences wouldn't be likely to overlook the pliers part. He seemed unconvinced. Still, he didn't take his act on the road, so there's that.
I once asked him if he could bend the spoon if I was holding it.
He asked if I would close my eyes.
If your belief system does not include incongruities that astonish, frustrate or befuddle you, it most probably does not include a power higher than you.

In our younger years Dar and I spent some of our money on antiques. I was raised around them and still love them, though I'm at the age of scaling back, not adding. But recently, unbidden, facebook started showing me images of antiques -- the ones I dearly loved -- primitives and Early American, crocks, and tools. An absolute flood of nostalgia hit me.

I melted an ice cube just by staring at it. It took longer than I expected.

If my guitars knew I owned them they would be deeply disappointed.
