MAYO!!!! Blcch! It's an Eye-talian sub, not chicken salad. It has salami, capocollo, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil & vinegar and oregano-basil. Ain't that enough? Yes, with a little mayo. Does it help if I call it aoli? I think of mayo as a moisturizer -- and if you have oil & vinegar and hot peppers, it's plenty moist. But you've always been weird!

Today, plodding through the chores of preparing for a house clearance at my dad's place, I got very sidetracked by reading letters, journals and newspapers from my grandfather's time in Burma (mostly), Singapore and India in WWII. Quite a window into that bit of family history. Found a sweet Xmas card which my dad, when a little boy had sent to his dad, (my Grandad) in Singapore. This house clearing might take some time.
England have just won against Switzerland at football and go through to the semifinals of Euro 2024. Yay!

Had a weird dream this morning just before waking up. I dreamt I was at a song circle that included me, Marshal, Marty, and Millring. The funny thing about it was that we gabbed so much about gear that we never actually played anything.

Speaking of guitars, I think I am going to order a small body, short scale Eastman that looks like a Gibson L-00. All solid wood, satin finish, gigbag. I have no desire to drop a lot of money on a guitar at this stage of life but I would like a decent short scale 00 sized guitar and I know I will never see my Farida again so this seems a fair option. If I order from Sweetwater I will get a couple bags of candy to boot. Model E100SS. Am I crazy?(I mean as far as the guitar is concerned.)

I know you're not that mobile, but Sweetwater is not that far from your house (that's how I drove home last year). You can actually have them pull a bunch of stuff for you and they'll have it waiting when you arrive. I had them pull three or four guitars for me when I ended up with the acoustic I bought from them. Plus you could have them pull all of that particular model and you could take home the one you like the best.

Right now, it’s still puts a strain on my ankle if I am in the car very long. My foot is at an uncomfortable angle. I will talk to my sales rep, tell him what I am after, and see what he can do for me. He always says “…if there is anything I can do…” so we will see if he means it.

You want me talking shop not singing, you really don't want me to sing. I have a very keen sense of pitch but cannot sing in tune to save my soul.

Don’t tempt me like that. SW has an inexpensive OM that checks a boat load of boxes for me. Do I need it? No, but rationalization has it’s own sense of logic.

Don’t tempt me like that. SW has an inexpensive OM that checks a boat load of boxes for me. Do I need it? No, but rationalization has it’s own sense of logic. I love going to Sweetwater. It's apparently the largest physical (brick and mortar) music retail store. It only takes about a 1/2 hour more for you to drive there than for me. But since you probably have plans, I'll tell you what. I'll go up, test drive whatever you want, and tell you, "yeah, you really ought to get that one." I'll pretend every neck is short scale and feels like a 50's Gibson neck (my favorite). I'll lie to you as much as you need me to in order to justify the purchase. But you'll have to write me an excuse note - "I apologize Erin, John went to Sweetwater to test guitars for me. In return, I bouhgt** him all the stuff he brought home." **"bouhgt" defined as, "I told him to go ahead and spend his own money on that stuff"

Yes, with a little mayo. Does it help if I call it aoli? I think of mayo as a moisturizer -- and if you have oil & vinegar and hot peppers, it's plenty moist. But you've always been weird! By the way, I think of mayo as a bread enhancer, not necessarily a sandwich moisturizer. By the way, are you familiar with the "moist maker" sandwich, from "Friends"? This clip cued up to the relevant description of the sandwich made with leftover Thanksgiving dinner. It's also pretty easy to make:
