Good morning. Up early for a birding outing with my Audubon buddies. I survived the cystoscopy yesterday and am on the mend. Life goes on. Have a great day folks.

Apparently Friday the 13th came on a Saturday again this month?
Off to work in the Saudi Arabian heat and humidity.

Good morning.
70F-91F sunny.
Saturday Shop but I have no idea if anyone will stop by. Doesn't matter as I have things to work on. The rest of the day is totally unknown. Since it's going to be hot out there maybe just staying inside is the best plan.

Good morning. Ken, I'm glad the cystoscopy is in your past. I've had two and I'd never have another without being fully sedated.
We'll have another hot day. I'll smoke a rack of ribs for dinner and pack for our week in Flagstaff. It begins Monday. We'd originally planned to go farther away and stay longer. With our daughter's baby just about due, we decided it was advisable to be only two hours from home. We can travel later.
Some of you are getting the heat wave we've been having. The good news is that it won't hang around as long as it did here.
Enjoy your day.

Forecast here is hot with rain. I am going to do a setup on the Eastman later. Right now, I am drinking coffee and thinking about it. Mainly, I am drinking coffee. I have plenty of Bit-O-Honey to get through the day.

Currently 73 degrees with 93% humidity.
Came back from the cabin last evening, didn't feel like running the AC there, to cool the place, just to sleep.
Mostly an inside day, but I will venture to the farmers market about 9:30.

Typical hot muggy Michigan July day ahead.
Great brief old-time jam session last night. More yakking than jamming, but we picked out some tunes to work on. Four old guys, three of whom are aspiring fiddlers, which leaves me room for guitar and banjo. Everyone is also open to doing John Prine, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, etc. songs. None of us are singers but that has never stopped anyone.
Dawn and I are off to the lakeshore for a bike ride before it gets to hot.

Woke to a mini disaster. Our half and half has curdled. Off to the store to replace it before she who must be obeyed wakes.

Good morning. We had a lot of rain here overnight. It is still cloudy, but cooler in the mid-70s, with some more rain expected later. Since I ran several errands yesterday, I will be free to stay in, do laundry, read, play guitar, do some organizing, and maybe even have time for a nap.
My girls made it to Maine yesterday without incident. They hit the road at 6:00 am. Traffic was light, they stopped in Portsmouth for lunch, and arrived at our friend's house in mid-afternoon.
Here is a photo of Bianca (left) and Her Grace, who are both very happy to be there. I suggested that cleaning the lens on her iPhone might reduce the haze in my wife's photos. She agreed.
Meanwhile, my son, who was on his way yesterday to visit his cousins in Minneapolis, had a flight delay here, a connecting flight delay in Boston, and was quite disgruntled via text message about the fact that when he should have arrived at Twin Cities airport by 4:00 pm, he wasn't going to get there until 8:30 pm. Air travel can be so dicey these days. One can never be sure. I haven't heard from him since they were boarding at 6:20 in Boston last evening.
This coffee is good. Have a pleasant day.

Had a good job in New London last night. The sound guy was a jazz sax player with a music degree from the jazz program at Northern Iowa University. He sat in on quite a few songs and was great. Apparently the jazz studies program there is nationally known. You Iowa soundhoolians familiar with it?

I don't know, Marshall. She is a high school rising Senior. I'm just a senior. One more year and she will be off to university somewhere, TBD. She has grown up to be quite the capable young woman, smart, savvy, informed, knows what she likes and doesn't like. It pleases me no end that she inherited my sardonic sense of humor.

Apparently the jazz studies program there is nationally known. You Iowa soundhoolians familiar with it? Yes. It started as a student-run jazz band, and became a part of the music program. It's the hottest day of the year so far. Maybe storms tonight.

It's my older brother's 80th birthday. I'll have to watch how he handles that age and see if I learn anything from it. Our Dad didn't quite make 60 so I got no old age guidance from him.
