My visit this morning to the cardiologist went well; he detected little change between today and last year's tests. There a couple of minor issues we need to watch but, basically, the meds seem to be doing their jobs.
Also, my girls are back home from Maine! The eight-hour trip only took them ten hours because of backups and a crash within New York city limits, natcherly. Sadly, they didn't bring me a live lobster.
They're tired but happy to be home. Bianca is already asleep on the living-room rug.

Perfect summer day here -- sunny, 80 degrees, light breeze, low humidity. Makes a feller want to sit out on the deck at dusk and watch the sun set, until thousands of evil mosquitoes attack.
It was, however, a perfectly horrid workday, with fully half of my shift spent struggling to connect with the mother ship so that I could get some freaking work done. The weak link is still unclear, but somehow, we made features deadline.
I am obliged tomorrow to drive downtown, pay at least $20 for parking and enter Strib Towers for like half an hour to get an updated staff photo taken for our new hotsy-totsy website. Like our readership needs to know what an elderly copy editor looks like so they can better appreciate our exquisite prose.

I suggest wearing shorts and showing off your gams.

It’s been a pleasant day. At first light, I went walking in the nearby forest. There were lots of wildflowers. We were going to go to the Arboretum, but it was closed, so we decided to take the gondola in the San Francisco peaks. It goes from about 9000 feet to 11,500 feet near the top of Mount Agassiz. You can see a lot of northern Arizona from there. Puts things in perspective. The day involved a lot of walking, and I am tired, but content.

It is a nice afternoon, if you like it warm, but 97f is too hot for me.
I am anxious to ride my new to me Honda 300 LS but there are few folks to go riding with. I have a loaner Yamaha 250XT if any of you want to join me in the next few days. I think I will trailer my Honda to Lincoln City, Oregon (temps in the 65 to 70 F range) next week and find some logging roads and perhaps some trails to explore.
