Good morning.
65F-85F sunny.
Going to visit a few music shops to flog some gear I got free because nobody knew how to fix it, I did. I also will be showing a Charles Orr Stinger guitar from 1979 that belongs to a old band mate. That will go to Willie's American Guitars first because they are one of the few places that know who Chuck Orr was.

Good morning. We will be leaving the cool mountains and returning to the hot desert today. All good things must come to an end. Enjoy your day.

Howdy, everyone.
What a week this is starting to be. Hoo-wee!
I have some laundry to do later. Slim chance of t-storms this afternoon and for the next few days, through Thursday, the forecast says. It's humid, for sure.
One thought that brings me great cheer: I am not in the depressing office where I used to work, taking direction from someone half my age who knows 10% of what I know about publishing! Never again will I need to worry about being subjected to a "performance review" delivered by an unqualified twit. Since April, 11 hours a day have been returned to me and I am enjoying them.
Her Grace has risen, so I suppose it's time to attend to breakfast. We have some tidying up to do—a good friend of hers from middle school who moved upstate during the pandemic is coming to visit tomorrow, for a couple of days.
Cheers and regards from my burgh.

I woke up at godawful 7:00 but thought myself unworthy to start a daily. I'm not even sure I should be posting this, since I have nothing interesting to say. Though I did have a nice session with Brother John and his Kennedy guitar last night. John is working on a background-music gig for us at a local Mexican restaurant, which would be the first regular, official performing gig for me since my last regular partners became too disabled to play out five years back. (I don't count jams or sitting-in or Bo Diddley's willingness to let any old body get up on the stage.) John even wants us to have, like, set lists and stuff. I wonder if I'm ready to get back into show business.

Besides a day trip to the canyon. The Lowell Observatory is a really fun place to visit in Flagstaff. It is the observatory where Pluto was discovered, and they still do a lot of astronomy research. Good morning, all. A rainy week in store for us.

Wishing John and Erin Bushouse a very Happy Anniversary today. I think this may be their tenth.
I’m sure they will celebrate each other in grand style.

Things to do in Flagstaff. Go to 11,000 feet and see Arctic tundra vegetation. Hike through ruins. Observe dragonflies in a marsh. Attend the Scottish heritage festival. Stay cool.

Sunny, hazy, gonna get muggy.
After a grandkid-intense weekend, returning to outdoor sanding. Also working on a tablesaw dust collection system. Our son is quite enamored of purpleheart wood. We made a purpleheart windowsill last summer and are now working on purpleheart accents for basement bookshelves and a barn-type sliding door.
I had a great accomplishment yesterday - I had my three-year-old twin granddaughters singing along with me on Grandpa Was A Carpenter (they requested a repeat of the Grandma verse)

A version of that will very likely be on the list--John has classical training and a love of the folkloric end of the Spanish/South American repertory. He also has (on loan) my lovely Marin Montero classical, and I have a funky old Mexican flamenco, so some manageable quasi-classical tunes will be under consideration, along with the usual folky/standards repertory that I favor.

Morning!
Started my day off with a bowl of spoon-sized shredded wheat with sliced bananas. I was going to post a picture of my morning repast but I can't find my phone.

I played Wordle on my phone this morning in Flagstaff. I'm home now. Wordle didn't recognize me as the same player so this time I did very well.

PT was long and hard today. I made the mistake of doing some of the exercises showing lots of improvement so they strapped weights on me to make it more difficult. Lots of icing tonight and I am not talking about cake decorations.

First time I've touched a guitar in 3 weeks. I can still play as long as I don't start thinking about it. Finally got caught up after our trip. Unpacking, laundry, going through snail mail, groceries, Costco, and planning the next cruise. That last one is because the cruise we had booked for next year got cancelled while we were on this one, so I had to find another one and work out some of the logistics before discussing with Mr. H. This afternoon I sent an email to our travel agent telling her what we want.
Tomorrow I take Mr. H for an eye injection. Wednesday I go to the orthodontist. Reality isn't what it's cracked up to be.

The day has gone well so far. A moderate temperature of 78 for the day, the defendant has been served by the sheriff in a case I wherein I represent the plaintiff, a new client with an interesting real estate matter has fallen into my lap, a successful motorcycle ride around town, and an espresso machine has been ordered and should arrive tomorrow, allowing me to start experimenting with decaf Americanos.

I find the most flavorful roasts to be French Italian, and espresso. Extra points and flavor if you get yourself a burr grinder (manual or electric), buy whole beans, and grind them as needed.

Extra extra points if you buy a roaster. I had a really small air roaster (like an air popper for popcorn) when I lived in fancy CA. It was fun.
