Good morning.
60F-80F sunny.
Shop work this morning and maybe a few errands this afternoon.
Kauai vacation all booked and paid for as of last night. Key West all booked and paid for right down to the parking garage and shuttle service to the airport. I have a huge stack of screen shots of all the booking info plus confirmation info on my phone.

Good morning. Other than lunch with a friend, I have nothing planned. I haven't felt like tackling the to-do list since I got back from vacation.
Be of good cheer.

Good morning. We're switching phone providers so today's project will be setting up new phones. Not looking forward to it but I'll work it out eventually, I hope....
Have a great day.

It poured down buckets all night last night, and its raining now. I guess rain is the theme of the day.

Morning!
Came nose to nose with a coyote yesterday while mowing up at the farm. I looped around the house into the back yard and there was a coyote at the edge of lawn probably 15 yards away max. I stopped and we just looked at each other for what seemed like ten long seconds but was probably closer to five long seconds. Then she slipped back into the grove.
First thought was, "she is beautiful". Second thought was, "I hope this boldness isn't due to rabies". Then I went back to thought number one. She was so sleek and in such nice condition she looked as if she had been groomed... clearly a healthy, well-fed coyote, not a ravaged or rabid one.
I had been mowing out front for half and hour or so, so she knew something was up and must have been curious as the farm is a pretty quiet place most days. Anyway, there she was.
I've seen lots of coyotes, but usually a quarter-mile away running across a field. This was different. This was close and still. And she really was lovely.

Having trouble getting the coffee to take hold this morning.
I got up for a bathroom call about 4:40 this morning and when I went back to bed, I thought I could hear a very faint growl or rumble. Before I could get to sleep I could tell it was thunder. For the next half hour I listened to it approach.
The wind and rain arrived about 5:30. I was thinking back to 2010, when a derecho hit us at 5:30 AM. We had 95-100 mph wind that time, so I was listening intently for the sirens to go off.
No sirens, the wind faded and I eventually drifted back to sleep, about the time I would usually be getting up.
Off to Cedar Rapids soon to pick up my repaired bike wheel.

Paul's getting show dogs and coyotes mixed up again.

Picking a few blueberries from our bushes is a nice way to start my day. Mail to mail and an ex parte hearing to attend. Other than that stuff, the day is all mine. I suppose I could get to work moving the motorcycle trailer out of the backyard for a little trip tomorrow. Wordle 1,131 4/6

... I suppose I could get to work moving the motorcycle trailer out of the backyard for a little trip tomorrow. Man, that sounds like a lot of work. What fun is it to haul a trailer around the countryside. Plus, you'll kill your back! You bought a new bike, take that out for a trip instead of the trailer. More fun. Less work.

That trip is exciting Marty. Got our first tomatoes yesterday and had our first BLTs. The tomatoes are out of control this year. Probably because they are in the new bed with fresh soil. Followed epaulβs advice with Menards stuff

The 3M Open gets underway tomorrow at TPC Twin Cities, a course about 15 miles north of my domicile. Looks like they will luck out with perfect weather, with the only precip threat coming on the last day, Sunday, but even then less than a 50% chance.

No, but I'll watch on the T&V. I've never had any desire to attend a golf match in person. Don't get the allure, to be honest. The TV commentators and camera crews do such outstanding work, and there are so many newish graphic enhancements these days, like shot-tracer technology, super-slo-mo closeup shots of the club face hitting the ball, etc. One reason I semi-justify my outrageous Xfinity cable bill.
