Good morning. We'll have an ordinarily hot summer day. I'll have my weekly Zoom breakfast and then shop for groceries.
This afternoon my wife and son and I will be interviewed on Zoom to see if we meet the criteria for adopting a Labrador retriever. We've already submitted answers to a detailed written questionnaire. We're dealing with a nonprofit that does nothing but find suitable homes for rescued labs in Arizona. I'm glad to see that they're thorough.
A month back, Wordle was getting boring so I changed my opening word. I don't think it's better but it's different and that makes things interesting.
Enjoy your day.

Time shifting, are we Don?
When I first saw October, panic struck me. "Oh no, I FORGOT to go to Africa! I forgot my sisters' birthday! And mine!
Old age=the age of self-doubt.

Getting old is awesome. I woke up with sciatic pain and a strained lower back muscle from something. Yep, it’s great. Nita will have to finish loading the trailer, Portland is starting to see some smoke from the myriad of fires we have, so it will be nice to head to the coast where it will be cooler and clear.
Did anyone watch the men’s Steeplechase 3000 meter final yesterday? Mind blowing race. If you can find it, well worth watching.
Congrats to Fatory Chef.

I passed a cognitive test last night. On the way home from the pizza place, Mr. H wanted to stop and pick up his prescription at Fry's (Kroger). His other prescription wasn't ready, but they could have it in 20 minutes. So we did some shopping. I had left the list at home because this wasn't planned. I managed to remember everything that was on the list, about 10 items. I still have to go back to pick up my prescription whenever it's ready, but at least I won't have to shop again.
Choir season kicks off tonight with a potluck, getting our music, and going through it. Instructions were to not bring messy food. All food can be messy.

Let me be the second person here to congratulate you in a post. Quite pleased for you, Bob. I wish you and your bride the very best. Perhaps you'll post a photo next week?
(I am also quite fond of shrimp and grits and have prepared it here, chez stormntwang, on occasion.)

October?
I'm back from Key West and Kauai. I hope I had a good time.
Good morning
60F-71F sunny.
I'd love just going back to bed as sleeping felt so good but I have an INR this morning which means I have to get up and going. After that I'll work on the boost box for Dub. Going to add a standby switch. It will have a switch to toggle between two volume settings and a standby so he can kill the whole thing without changing settings.
Tyler also wants me to show him how to locate a Bigsby on a Tele. I'm going to make him tell me how he would do it first. He's not going to like that but the lesson is how to figure it out yourself, not have your grandfather show you how to do it. The vast majority of my repair skills are things I've figured out how to do myself. That in it self is the skill he needs.

Speaking of Bigsby's I recently saw a video of a guy with a squareneck dobro that had a bigsby in place of the traditional tailpiece. At first I wondered why put that on a "slide" instrument, but then it occurred to me that it could simulate a pedal steel.

Morning!
Feeling some Fall in the air. It got down to 50 last night. Had to grab an extra blanket... and Casper. Tonight will drop down to the mid-40s (I hope someone's camper has a heater in it. Or extra blankets and a dog.)
High today will be in the mid to upper 60s. But, tomorrow we will get back into the 70s again for the remainder of the week.
I survived the photo tour of my colon, and lower main street passed the inspection with flying colors. A relief after the crazy ride last year's camera work sent me off on. All my Docs have now cleared me as good to go and left my medical calendar completely and blessedly empty (but, they do want to do another photo tour in three years, instead of ten or whatever. Lucky me.)

Another nice cool day here. I had the fun task of cleaning the rotten, moldy, stuff out from the underside of my mower deck, yesterday. While I had it jacked up, I pulled the blades off and sharpener them. Then I mowed.
Sometime this afternoon I need to get the string trimmer out and tidy up.
Gotta make a grocery store run today too, family gathering at the cabin this weekend and I know how much young people can eat.

Acts like the two left hand pedals on a pedal steel guitar. Changes the 2nd string 1 full step up and the 3rd a half step up.

Good afternoon and Congratulations to Bob.
I took the mountain bike out to the Chassahowitzka WMA this morning. The weather hasn't been cooperative for me to take it out on the trails but we've had a letup in the rain for a few days, so I took the opportunity to go today. Good stuff. Did some landscaping in the yard when I got back and now I plan on being lazy for the rest of the day.
Have a great day everyone.

Congratulations to Factory Chef on the bride and to Don on the dog.
Slow times here in river city. I need to get my 4Runner on the market, probably facebook and craigslist today. It is being detailed as I type.

Getting married at the courthouse. Looking for a 2 bedroom. 2 bath apt or buy a condo. No more houses for me. Tired of the upkeep, property taxes and rising house insurance and yard work.
